“Timber and engineered wood building systems are the future for developers and builders in Australia” – FRAME Australia.
Frame plays a pivotal role in bringing together the complete supply chain of engineered timber and prefabrication with the building design and construction sectors, to develop communication and create the potential for future opportunities.
Speakers from Europe, Canada, North America along with local experts will present on the conference theme “Building construction with prefabricated timber and engineered wood” with emphasis on the rapidly emerging interest in timber building systems for multi-residential and commercial construction.
Delegate attendance is expected to be an all-time high in 18 years of the event, especially with changes to the National Construction Code substantially increasing deemed to satisfy provisions for timber building heights up to 8 storeys from May 1 this year.
Program highlights include local manufacture of production-line housing with fully completed floor, wall and roof systems ready for assembly on site in days instead of months; timber framed apartment buildings from 3 to 5 storeys; and mass timber including CLT for buildings of 6 to 10 storeys, or more. Also developments in building technology with CAD/CAM and 3D models for integrated data process through design, supply and construction, and assisting automation in manufacturing to improve efficiency and produce highly accurate building components.
With the large number of speaker presentations, sessions will be held in parallel for building design and construction topics, and for timber prefabrication topics, to enable a one day conference program.
