It is the City Council, who initiated the new summer paradise at the quay. The planning of the building has been going on a long time and now finally put the first sod, or rather the first pillar. The entire seaside resort will be built on the water, an innovative and sustainable design by Danish architectural firm. Aarhus municipality has strict purchasing policies when it comes to environmental issues in its construction, this means that all wood used must come from sustainable sources. Environmental requirements in Aarhus made an environmentally friendly alternative to classic wood pressure treatment was necessary. Other construction in the harbor area of Aarhus has been built with another environmentally friendly timber, which is expensive and it has been difficult to find a sustainable certificates. The choice was obvious when they heard about OrganoWood.

“Traditionally, you could use pressure-treated wood, but Aarhus has a policy to buy only certified sustainable wood and not impregnated with heavy metals”, says Ole Mortensen, Technical Director of CASA Entreprise, which is contractor in construction.

It is Frøslev Wood in Padborg that has delivered OrganoWood project in Aarhus.

anothery“OrganoWood has been used in Sweden for more than four years, while in Denmark, we are just starting to sell the wood. We expect to see OrganoWood in many other projects in the future. We see a great interest in the product right now, from architects but also from entrepreneurs and DIY / end consumers. it will work more and more in new projects, because in many projects are forbidden, and many consumers make the active choice not to use wood impregnated with copper. OrganoWood treated wood in these cases a fantastic options, high durability, “says development manager Morten Erikstrup, Frøslev Wood. Morten continues to explain that the wood is treated with silicon, a process that has been developed with inspiration from the natural fossils process where minerals penetrate and mineralize organic material. With the help of technology is bound silicon materials to the wood fibers and creates an environment in which fungi do not thrive. In addition, silicon noncombustible substance which gives the wood its flame and over time the wood may be a beautiful silver-gray hue.

Aarhus seaside resort will be located in a residential area which will include 250 homes, which are ready for occupancy in December 2018. The seaside resort will be about 2,500 square meters and will be located near the 450-square-meter beach that is also a part of project. The entire complex will also include 70 activity center, 6 restaurants and a theater.

Here, families, children and tourists to stay, especially in the summer. All who come and visit the seaside resort will put feet on a toxic brew that is safe for the family to hang on because all the substances in OrganoWoods products are classified as harmless to the environment and health of the Chemicals Agency.
