Schattdecor presents new generation of decors at SICAM 2018

 Tuesday, December 11, 2018

With Neapolis, Mercurio, Astana Pine, and Waterford Oak, Schattdecor presented a new generation of decors that can be used universally and reflect current international trends. Designers, customers, and trade show visitors saw endless potential in the Schattdecor best sellers Jackson Hickory, Ventura Chestnut, and Catania Oak! At Schattdecor’s booth, suppliers and visitors from over 130 countries gained an overview of new functional trend designs from the SMART, MICRO, COMMUNITY, and AGELESS product groups for a variety of lifestyles. According to Claudia Küchen, Head of Marketing, Design, and Communications at Schattdecor: “We wanted to directly show visitors how multidimensional lifestyles, changing living concepts, and the blending of leisure time and work are shaping new trends. These new lifestyles are influencing the form and function of the spaces in which we live and work – and how we decorate them.” According to Klaus Müller, Head of the Finished Surfaces division, the leading international trade show was the perfect time and place to support customers from Central Europe with innovative solutions just as they begin developing their latest products. With the new rotogravure and digitally printed decors, the designers responded to developments in the industry and, with Mercurio for example, delivered an answer to the demand for faux stone, or with Tropical Tiles, a design that corresponds to the latest interior design trend featuring leaf, tropical, and nature prints.

Catania Oak’s New Color Combination Delights Visitors

Catania Oak was already very popular at the last SICAM in 2017. In 2018, it once again impressed with its trendy new color combinations. According to Claudia Küchen: “Oak remains an ongoing trend in the industry. Based on our research, including at the Milan Furniture Fair, we developed a new color combination for Catania Oak that we believe has great potential! This is also clearly reflected in the results of our current post-trade show analyses.”

Jackson Hickory
Since its launch at the Interzum in 2017, Schattdecor has seen much success with Jackson Hickory, which is considered the “new oak.” The furniture decor is in demand across the board in all market segments and offers a modern alternative to the somewhat rustic oak look. The advantage is that the natural surface and the modern, timeless color scheme guarantee longevity and variety of combinations. The decor is extremely versatile and can be used in living areas with widely different designs.

Ventura Chestnut
Ventura Chestnut is a very fine, universal furniture decor. The elegant material has a slightly dynamic appearance with small knots and very balanced, fine details. As a result, it meets the current demand for natural and versatile decor designs.

Mercurio
Speaking of versatile: faux stone designs are also becoming increasingly popular – a trend that Schattdecor has implemented with its Mercurio decor, for example. The decor offers a wide range of potential applications and is no longer restricted to just the kitchen, but is popular in many different living areas.

Neapolis
The combination of graphic elements embedded in a classic oak wood structure is extremely eye-catching. The floor decor designed for wall-to-wall use is also suitable for furniture surfaces where a more rustic look is desired.

Astana Pine
This pine furniture decor has a rustic vintage appearance due to its rough-looking surface and whitewashed effect. The narrow planks have subtle plane marks and a pronounced 3-D impression.

Waterford Oak
Rustic decor is very much in demand in various markets at the moment. The Waterford Oak furniture decor features sections with cracks and striking details. Combined with its distinctive surface texture, this results in a very authentic-looking wood reproduction.
