simp. egger“Simply inspired” with EGGER at interzum 2017

Between May 16 to 19 2017, the Messe in Cologne once again hosted interzum, the world’s leading trade fair for furniture manufacturing and interior design. This year, EGGER has welcomed its international trade fair visitors to a 600 m2 trade fair booth in Hall 6.1, Stand A70-71/B079. Under the trade fair motto “Simply Inspired”, the wood-based materials manufacturer presented its product, decor and surface innovations in inspiring applications, and highlights the variety of solutions, services and possibilities available.

This year’s trade fair motto “Simply Inspired” merged two terms, just like EGGER’s presentation at Interzum fused two thematic areas. International visitors to the trade fair booth in Cologne can discover new introductions from EGGERZUM 2017 and the new EGGER Decorative Collection 2017-2019. “The motto is like an umbrella term for our products, decors, textures and services. EGGERZUM targets our customers in the furniture industry, while the new EGGER Decorative Collection 2017-2019 is primarily intended for architects, designers, fabricators and, of course, our customers in specialised retail,” summarises Hubert Höglauer, Head of Marketing and Product Management Furniture and Interior Design prior to the show.

interzum award: EGGER receives two award

Numerous international exhibitors at Interzum competed this year for the well-regarded industry label of the interzum award: ‘intelligent material & design 2017’. The products submitted were considered and evaluated by a specialist jury of five from the field of design and architecture. EGGER was able to convince the jury of its competence in design and quality with two of its products. PerfectSense Evolution and the texture ST19 Deepskin Excellent were awarded “High product quality” at the ceremony on Monday, May 15. These awards recognise the quality and power of innovation of the submitted products, and highlight the international position within the industry.

egger 4A little extra gloss, matt, authencity and design

EGGERZUM’s new introductions offer expressive individuality to the furniture industry.

The wood-based materials manufacturer already shared glimpses of its new introductions during the in-house exhibition EGGERZUM 2017. More details were emerging at interzum in Cologne: the quality of wood and material decors increases with the premium surface PerfectSense, matt surfaces are brought together for a comprehensive application concept, textures are even more authentic, and edges set striking and harmonious accents.

The in-house exhibition EGGERZUM has been organised for clients in the furniture industry for more than 20 years in various locations. “In the years in which Interzum in Cologne also takes place, we introduce our newly developed decors, textures and products to a large international trade fair audience”, says Klaus Monhoff, Head of Design and Decor Management.

PerfectSense Evolution: Even more variety for premium ideas

PerfectSense represented the premium category of gloss and matt decorative lacquered boards, with the proven quality of an EGGER MDF core. Visually attractive with a smooth touch, the product is suited for applications in residential and commercial areas, in upscale retail, as well as for furniture design. PerfectSense Gloss impresses with its high depth effect and real glass look. On the other hand, PerfectSense Matt has a velvety feel, anti-fingerprint feature, and the possibility to realise elegant, modern fronts without handles. The homogeneity of the MDF boards used allows for a flat, flawless surface. The unique UV lacquer makes them highly durable.

The choice of decors for PerfectSense Gloss and Matt lacquered boards has been expanded. The popular decors in the EGGER Decorative Collection are now joined by additional uni and wood decors, as well as material reproductions, partly with pearlescent effect. The pearlescent element shows off very well certain Gloss and Matt decors. EGGER thus achieves unprecedented surface qualities and gives PerfectSense even more variety. The expanded decor variety was awarded “High product quality” at the interzum award, ‘intelligent material & design 2017’.

Matt concept: the complete solution in matt elegance

Matt surfaces convey a cozy and elegant room atmosphere. EGGER presents its new matt concept at the Interzum 2017 in Cologne. This is where the wood-based materials manufacturer brings together all its products with a velvety, matt surface. This allows for complete solutions in the matt trend to be realized with products from a single source. They are used in furniture elements, carcasses, through to the worktops.

The two Eurodekor melamine surfaces ST6 Smoothtouch Softmatt and ST9 Smoothtouch Matt are part of the matt surfaces and are offered as a carcass solution for combinations with trendy matt frontals. ST6 is a deep matt surface. The very low gloss level provides a good colour gradient for dark colours to PerfectSense or other lacquered surfaces. Decors produced with ST6 receive ST9 on the back. ST9 is also a matt surface with a very low gloss level, produced with the same texture on the back. This helps create a pleasant feel and low reflection. As such, ST9 is particularly well suited for light to medium uni colours and woodgrains with reduced pores.

The well-known PerfectSense Matt lacquered boards have a very warm and velvety feel with anti-fingerprint feature, which prevents fingerprints from marking and thus enables front solutions without handles. This surface is very well suited for use in furniture frontals or for sliding doors and wall cladding. EGGER also offers PerfectSense Matt as a laminate for vertical applications. A new innovation is PerfectSense Topmatt laminate, presented by EGGER for the first time at Interzum in Cologne. Characterised by its matt surface with anti-fingerprint feature, it was developed especially for use on high-stress surfaces such as worktops and tables. The wood-based materials manufacturer offers ABS and PMMA edges with perfectly coordinated decors and textures matching the matt surfaces.

egger 3Texture innovations: more choice more authencity

Authenticity is the main focus for all EGGER decors. In addition to appearance, the feel of the surfaces is also particularly important. The textures are expressive and have character, depth and naturalness. EGGER’s objective is to come as close as possible to the original. The wood-based materials manufacturer consistently invests in new technologies in order to develop decors and surfaces that feel as real as they look.

The new texture ST19 Deepskin Excellent combines natural wood pore elements with linear areas. The interplay of matt and gloss on a woodgrain creates an exciting overall impression and provides a natural finish. When used on calm or lightly-planked wood reproductions, this texture looks as if it is matched to the decor image. ST19 also creates a natural appearance on uni colours. The texture has been developed on the basis of the successful ST22 Deepskin Linear, giving more of an emotional and natural look and feel.

EGGER won the award “High product quality” at the interzum award

‘intelligent material & design 2017’ for this surface innovation.
The combination of matt and stone is currently popular for surfaces, particularly on worktops. EGGER responds to this design preference with ST76 Matex Rough Matt The surface innovation is modelled on a mottled and softly-brushed natural stone surface, and can be used on a wide range of stone reproductions. ST76 received a “Special Mention” at the German Design Award 2017.

High-quality design accents with Trio and Doppia edging

New dynamic achieved in furniture design with the Trio edge in PMMA quality. The collection with its colour and pattern combinations offers a varied selection for creative designs. The transparent acryl texture with various gloss levels also provides a special depth effect. With three different accents, the Trio edging collection offers unusual combinations with uni and woodgrain decors. The Trio edge is currently available in eight decors.

The Doppia edge, available in numerous decor variants, is also a special eye-catcher. The black-gold colour was awarded the “Special Mention” in February 2017 at the German Design Award. These PMMA edges perfect the illusion of real glass on furniture and follow the design trend towards accents and contrasts. Visual perfection is achieved thanks to the narrow joint. The bicoloured appearance of the Doppia edge also creates a high-quality colour transition to the surface decor. Doppia edging can also be manufactured with a matt finish upon request.

The wood-based materials manufacturer also introduces its EGGER Decorative Collection 2017-2019 to the international audience at interzum in Cologne.
