Schmalz re-designs its website

 Monday, July 25, 2016

schmalzJ. Schmalz GmbH has fully redesigned the appearance, content and technical features of its website www.schmalz.com. Optimising user-friendliness is an important aspect of the new site, which comes with a full-fledged online shop. Around 6,000 vacuum technology items can be ordered with just a few clicks – on a computer or just as easily on a tablet or smartphone.

Visitors can find all the information they need about the company and all current news, in a compact, clear structure. Schmalz focuses on useful information about vacuum components and gripping systems, manual handling systems and cranes, as well as clamping solutions. The company is sharing its in-depth knowledge of not only technology and physics, but also the practical applications of vacuum technology. For example, the comprehensive media center with application and how-to videos shows how manual or automated processes are made more efficient, flexible and productive thanks to vacuum technology.

The highlight of the new website is the online shop: Users can access around 6,000 vacuum technology items with just a few clicks. The shop displays availability, prices and order history, among other features. The CAD data is also available immediately – an added benefit for designers, who can immediately use the data to design their gripping systems.

The page is responsively designed. That means: The presentation of contents adjusts to each device used. This enables optimal readability and navigation on a computer, smartphone or tablet. Urgently required spare parts can now be easily ordered with a mobile device – directly on the site of the vacuum gripper or vacuum clamping system.

Hendrik Bittenbinder, Head of Marketing Communication at Schmalz, says, “Our new web platform is an important tool that enables us to offer our customers, suppliers, business partners and applicants comprehensive information about vacuum technology products and solutions. At the same time, we want to use it to continue developing our growing online business. Our goal is to offer our customers the best support possible, whether offline or online.”
