XYLEXPO 2022: Searching for new synergies

The prominent position of Italy in the woodworking industry is nothing new. Today at the press conference, the tone has been set for Xylexpo 2022! Xylexpo 2022, scheduled to be held on October 12-15, 2022 jointly with BI.MU at Fieramilano looks forward to create a fertile environment for business in the woodworking and manufacturing industry, in presence of eminent speakers such as Barbara Colombo, President UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, Luigi De Vito, President Acimall, Alfredo Mariotti, General Manager 33. BI-MU, and Dario Corbetta, Director, Xylexpo.

On this occasion, Barbara Colombo, President UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE presented the current state of woodworking industries of Europe, highlighting once again the position of Italy among the international leaders while adding the fact, that despite the challenging year, business in the first quarter of 2021 have shown recovery and steady growth, hence positive business movement may be forecasted based on the statistics of meteoric rise of business in the first six months of 2021.

Luigi De Vito, President Acimall, stated that the priority have always been and will always be to meet industry needs.  The COVID-19 pandemic has forced to postpone last Xylexpo thus strongly affecting the wood business last year. However, in 2021, the first half of the year experienced steady growth of 42% with total orders of about over 88.7% in the domestic market and +190.8% in the international market.  He further added that the two events will be bringing best of technology in an international framework where one can touch the innovations thus attracting more than 100 thousand visitors in Milan. He stated that though digital is the way forward, face-to-face meets are important for all.

Alfredo Mariotti, General Manager 33. BI-MU added that any physical event presents “beauty and relationship”, and the speaker corner will create a unique opportunity for the participants for mind share. They will also come up with innovations in Robots and include a sector Roboplanet that goes beyond machines and metal working.

Dario Corbetta, Director, Xylexpo, mentioned in terms of woodworking every decision is taken in the interest of improving and enriching the sector. Key topics of Xylexpo 2022 will  be digital transformation and sustainability and will focus on the roadmap of events on specific topics, events at the exhibition and XIA-Xylexpo Innovation Awards.

Thus, with high hopes and excitement, Xylexpo is all set to be back with more than 100 exhibitors already securing their position, thus reaffirming their trust in Xylexpo.
