The highly anticipated China International Furniture Machinery & Woodworking Machinery Fair (WMF 2025) opened on September 09 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC), Shanghai, marking a significant milestone for the global woodworking industry. The exhibition, under the theme “The Smart Balance of Manufacturing,” brings together over 400 exhibitors to present cutting-edge solutions for modern woodworking challenges, focusing on light high-end customization and overseas growth.
This year’s fair spans 50,000 square meters and runs concurrently with CIFF Shanghai and Upholstery Tech, creating a unified event dubbed Furniture Tech Week. The exhibition will showcase innovative woodworking machinery, advanced production systems, and new technologies that empower manufacturers to meet the demand for high-end, customized furniture.
WMF 2025 offers five key tracks that highlight the latest advancements in woodworking:
One of the standout features of WMF 2025 is the WoodTech Atelier located in Hall 8.1. This zone brings together 17 top manufacturers to showcase completed products that highlight the intersection of technology and craftsmanship. Attendees can see innovative pieces such as curved components and mirror door panels, and learn about the technologies that enable their creation, including five-axis machining, soft-molding, and AI vision inspection.
This interactive space offers a unique opportunity for visitors to appreciate the final product’s aesthetic details before tracing back the manufacturing process and meeting the technology providers who made it all possible. It’s a hands-on learning experience that connects design, material selection, and production processes.
WMF 2025 is expected to attract buyers and delegations from over 37 countries and regions, including emerging markets like Brazil, India, and Vietnam. The exhibition offers specialized business matching services and an overseas VIP buyer program to foster global trade opportunities and help exhibitors connect with international distributors and OEM/ODM clients.
The fair also features a post-show online platform, which allows exhibitors to continue their business discussions and inquiries, creating a seamless bridge between the onsite event and future international business.
Throughout the exhibition, WMF 2025 will host several high-profile events. One of the highlights is the Global Woodworking Smart Manufacturing Summit, set for September 10. The summit, themed “Crafting a New Era — 2025 Forum on High-End Custom Woodwork,” will bring together leaders from the woodworking industry to discuss innovation and trends in custom woodwork manufacturing.
Other notable events include the International Woodworking Cooperation Forum, focusing on green manufacturing and collaborative development, and a Buyer’s Connect Business Exchange, designed to facilitate partnerships between exhibitors and international delegates from regions such as Africa, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
WMF 2025 offers an unparalleled platform for manufacturers, suppliers, and buyers to engage in high-level discussions, explore cutting-edge technologies, and discover new solutions for the challenges of modern woodworking. With its focus on smart production, flexible manufacturing, and light high-end customization, WMF 2025 promises to be a pivotal event for shaping the future of the global woodworking and furniture manufacturing industries.
Whether you’re looking to expand into overseas markets or explore the latest in woodworking technology, WMF 2025 in Shanghai is the place to be.
