Unilin Technologies, the intellectual property division of Unilin, has officially received US patent US 12,325,148 for its groundbreaking Osiris recycling process. This newly granted patent expands the technology’s international protection, building on its earlier recognition in Europe, and marks a key milestone in the advancement of circular wood fiber solutions in North America.

“By receiving this patent grant for the Osiris technology in the United States, we are expanding its impact to a major panel production market in the world,” says Louis Van Roy, Business Development Director at Unilin Technologies. “This patent underlines the global relevance of the technology to turning waste fiberboards and production waste into high-quality raw materials.” Louis Van Roy added further.

Osiris offers a groundbreaking solution for recycling wood fiberboard waste, which typically ends up in landfills or incineration plants due to its complex composition. This process allows for the recovery of clean wood fibers that can be reused in production lines alongside virgin material, promoting sustainability and improving resource efficiency.

“Osiris brings together sustainability and profitability,” adds Louis. “It not only supports greener production practices, it also provides manufacturers a clear competitive advantage. By reducing dependency on fresh wood inputs, the technology delivers both environmental responsibility and significant economic advantages – a combination we believe has the power to transform the industry.” Louis concluded.
