SCM, a world-leading group in secondary woodworking technologies and services, and Springa, a startup dedicated to simplifying access to digital manufacturing tools for craftspeople and professionals, have signed an agreement to distribute the Goliath CNC. This portable and flexible numerically controlled milling machine is designed for large-scale projects and will be sold globally under the name “scm maker” through SCM’s authorized distributor network and e-shop.
Additionally, SCM is supporting Springa’s equity crowdfunding campaign to finance R&D activities and industrial production of the CNC robot by signing a PFI worth €300,000 for a two-year period.
“SCM firmly believes in innovation initiatives that bring value to the customer. It does this by investing 7% of its annual turnover in R&D and supporting young people and the future of the wood sector and its community,” stated Pietro Gheller, Director of the Scm Group Wood Division. “In the case of Springa, we admired the team’s skills, passion and entrepreneurship, and we decided to get involved by joining them. Today, we are doing this by distributing the product and we will potentially continue doing this in the future through a broader partnership.” Pietro added further.
“With this new ‘maker’, SCM strengthens its leadership position in cnc machining centres and continues to complete the range of solutions we offer customers in every market segment.” Pietro concluded.
“Through this campaign we want to consolidate our market position, optimize production and develop new products. The involvement and support of a company like SCM is a great confirmation of the quality of the work and technology developed in recent years, as well as a growth opportunity for Springa’s future.” – explains Lorenzo Frangi, Founder and CEO of Springa.
This operation will be guaranteed through the adoption of the technological infrastructure provided by Fleap S.p.A., Europe’s leading platform for the management of digital financial assets and the native digitisation of corporate processes based on blockchain technology.
