Light, Flexible and Suitable for daily use, REHAU face shields are made in Germany. As the measures to restrict physical contact are increasingly relaxed, a growing number of professional occupations are starting to require effective safety gear that is suitable for daily use – and face shields are an important part of this.
Polymer specialist REHAU is responding to the demand for safety gear by producing an industrial series with an almost unlimited number of pieces – unlike the small quantities that can be manufactured with 3D printing, for example. On the basis of its current portfolio, REHAU is making various components for shield bands, head bands and forehead padding with tools it already has available. Further elements will be contributed by the existing supplier network. Production and fabrication is taking place at the Rehau and Feuchtwangen plants.
‘The finished product is a light and comfortable face shield weighing 155 grams, with an infinitely variable, foldable visor and a Velcro fastener that can be adjusted to fit your head shape. Comfort and weight were key factors during the development phase, as most people wear face shields for hours at a time’, says Santiago Pardos, Director of New Business Development for the Furniture and Industrial Solutions divisions. The face shields can be cleaned with regular soapy water or with disinfectants after use.
The target groups include medical specialists, caregivers and emergency services workers, but also people who work in close contact with customers, such as retail and hospitality workers, teachers, hairdressers and optometrists – all of whom could benefit from this valuable aid when going about their ‘new’ daily routine.
Between one and 50,000 REHAU face shields can be ordered per week. Whether it’s for the requirements of major customers, accumulating safety stock, sales via technical trade or direct purchase for consumers online stores, REHAU has its sights set on all distribution channels. The face shields – paired with a face mask, for example – should be used in accordance with the regulations of the respective local government/country.
