Premier Forest Products declares new acquisition

Premier Forest Products, a key UK timber importer, has announced the acquisition of Decorpanel, a specialised panel processing company. To further increase productivity and capacity at the location, Premier aims to invest in new machinery. This will enable a speedy turnaround of orders as well as promptly and efficiently service consumers and satisfy expanding demand.

Terry Edgell, Co-founder and CEO of Premier Forest Products, was quoted as saying: “Decorpanel constitutes an excellent fit for Premier. It signifies further geographic expansion for us into the north of England, while simultaneously enhancing our processing and machining capability and capacity to meet growing customer demand. This acquisition is great news for our customers who will benefit from our shared expertise, and greater product range. We start 2023 full of ambitious growth plans and the purchase of Decorpanel stands us in good stead to reach our targets for the year.”

For Decorpanel clients who will have access to Premier’s wide range of timber products, Ian Ling said that this is excellent news. The company will have access to nationwide delivery services thanks to its well-established network and infrastructure. Aside from saying that they are eager to collaborate with the Premier team, Decorpanel also expressed their excitement for the company’s future.

Owners Ian Ling and Anthony Hopps founded Decorpanel in 1998 and it is based in Tyne and Wear. The company has 63 employees working on a four-acre property with 76,000ft2 of warehouse and production space. Decorpanel is a specialist distributor and converter of wood based panel products, supplying the furniture and building industries. The comapany’s range of products are perfectly suited for use in the furniture and joinery trade, as well as for kitchen or bathroom fitting and shopfitting.
