The furniture industry, long reliant on petrochemical-based resins, is undergoing a green revolution with the introduction of PANTair, an eco-innovative panel developed by Evertree and Seripanneaux. Evertree, a pioneer in plant-based resins, has partnered with Seripanneaux, a French panel manufacturer that uses wood sourced from sustainably managed forests, to create a game-changing product.
For over 70 years, the furniture industry has depended on petrochemical resins, which have raised concerns due to their environmental and health impacts. According to Maxime Legendre, Sales Director at Evertree, there is a clear need for a shift towards more sustainable alternatives: “We need partners who prioritize health and the environment.”
PANTair stands as a solution to this challenge. Made up of 98% biobased content, the panel is free from harmful chemicals such as formaldehyde and isocyanates. Additionally, it boasts a significantly lower carbon footprint than conventional panels, offering a greener alternative without sacrificing quality. “It matches the quality and performance of petrochemical-based panels,” says Manuel Pasquerault, Sales Director at Seripanneaux, who aims to phase out the use of UF resins in favor of more eco-friendly options.
With its innovative composition and sustainable benefits, PANTair is set to revolutionize the furniture sector. Nicolas Masson, Managing Director at Evertree, emphasizes the importance of industry-wide adoption: “We have the resin and the panels—now we need the furniture sector to join the ecological transition.”
