OWI-interzum

OWI is set to push the boundaries of sustainable design at Interzum 2025, where they will showcase their revolutionary approach to wood fibre materials. With a focus on environmental responsibility and innovative technology, OWI is introducing new possibilities in 3D shaping for moulded parts, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional plywood components.

At the event, OWI will demonstrate how they are overcoming the limitations of classic plywood by using advanced wood fibre materials to create highly functional, three-dimensional moulded products. These innovative materials, typically made from 100% softwood, adhere to the highest sustainability standards, including PEFC and FSC certifications, while also providing the additional benefit of CO₂ storage.

OWI’s cutting-edge technology enables the creation of self-supporting seat shells and support elements that maintain a balance of strength, elegance, and sustainability. By combining wood fibres with fine veneers, OWI is able to produce stable, durable components that are as environmentally friendly as they are innovative.

A key highlight of the exhibition will be a live presentation on Thursday, 22 May 2025, at 4:00 PM at the OWI stand (Hall 4.2, Stand D030-C031). Visitors will have the opportunity to witness firsthand how OWI’s pioneering designs are revolutionizing the way moulded parts are created, combining advanced manufacturing techniques with eco-conscious materials to produce high-performance products.

OWI’s mission is clear: to demonstrate that design innovation and environmental protection can go hand in hand. Their work in the field of sustainable moulded parts is setting new standards for the future of the furniture and automotive industries, where the demand for eco-friendly solutions is ever-growing.

“Interzum 2025 provides us with the perfect platform to showcase our breakthrough technology,” said a representative from OWI. “We are excited to share our vision for the future of sustainable moulded parts with our partners, customers, and the wider industry.”

Also, sustainability is not just a buzzword at OWI – it’s a core principle that drives everything they do. At Interzum 2025, OWI will showcase their innovative approach to a closed-loop circular economy, demonstrating how plastic products can be fully recycled, transformed, and given a second life.

OWI’s cutting-edge recycling system ensures that no plastic product goes to waste. Instead, at the end of their useful life, the plastic products OWI manufactures are returned to the company, where they are processed through an intelligent in-house compounding process. This process turns what would otherwise be waste into valuable secondary raw materials, which are then reformed into high-quality products like moulded seat and office chair parts.

This closed-loop system not only reduces waste but also significantly lowers CO₂ emissions, contributing to a more sustainable and resource-efficient future. By recycling plastic products into top-tier materials, OWI is setting a new standard for sustainability in the manufacturing industry.

If you’re curious about how the future of the circular economy looks in practice, don’t miss the exclusive live presentation at OWI’s stand (Hall 4.2, Stand D030-C031) on Tuesday, 20 May 2025, at 4:00 PM. There, visitors will get an in-depth look at how OWI is leading the way in efficient resource conservation and sustainable production.

OWI’s commitment to sustainability is setting the stage for a future where waste is minimized, and resources are continuously reused – a true testament to their dedication to creating a sustainable, waste-free world. Join OWI at Interzum 2025 to experience firsthand how the circular economy can revolutionize the way we design, produce, and recycle products.
