A thoughtfully reimagined cottage in Barrington, Illinois, showcases how premium wood flooring can transform residential interiors, as Kate Marker Interiors selected Bjelin’s Woodura Planks and Rigid Core flooring to create a warm, inviting, and timeless living environment.
The 90-square-metre (966 sq. ft.) residential renovation blends modern functionality with classic cottage-inspired aesthetics, where flooring plays a central role in establishing character and continuity throughout the home. Designed by the acclaimed interior design studio Kate Marker Interiors, the project demonstrates how natural wood textures and carefully selected finishes can elevate everyday living spaces.
“We used Bjelin flooring in two of our most recent projects, and it truly served as the perfect foundation for each design,” said Kate Marker, Owner of Kate Marker Interiors. “In this reimagined cottage, we wanted the floors to feel warm and lived-in, with visible grain and natural variation that brought character to the space.
