imos iX 2025: Boosting Furniture Sales & Production with AI

As usual, imos AG is presenting the latest version of its software solution iX Interio at this year’s LIGNA. With imos iX 2025, the company is not only focusing on numerous functional improvements in the iX CAD, iX CAM, and iX NET product groups but is also marking a forward-looking milestone for the industry with the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into its software products.
The aim of AI integration is to significantly optimize or redesign workflows and support users in their daily work more efficiently. Generative AI delivers impressive results in the creation of photorealistic images based on so-called “white planning.” These neutral, color- and design-free plans are transformed by AI into realistic furnishing suggestions in a matter of seconds, individually tailored to the wishes of potential customers.
iX 2025 – Cloud Ready
Another focus is on the provision of iX software products in the cloud. The modules can still be installed both “on-premises” and cloud-based, giving companies the greatest possible flexibility when choosing their operating model. The license model has also been expanded as part of this further development: In addition to the classic, perpetual license model, imos will also offer a subscription model in the future. Instead of a one-off investment, monthly usage fees will be charged.
iX NET – Plan Furniture and Interior Design Online
The web-based planning and sales solution iX NET has undergone the most extensive further development in the past two years. With new technology and improved visualization, the application impresses with a realistic display – both in the real-time view during planning and with server-generated photorealistic images.
A particular highlight: the iX NET application can now be operated not only on imos AG servers as before but also on those of external service providers such as Microsoft Azure. This is particularly advantageous for online solutions outside Europe, as the geographical proximity to the server enables a significantly higher processing speed.
iX CAM
From the finished design drawing or the online store directly to the machine: iX CAM automatically generates the CNC programs for all common machine manufacturers from the planning or design – from the individual CNC machine to the workshop cell or the networked production plant. In addition, in-house production processes can be mapped and CNC data generation can be adapted to the respective production flow – simply, quickly, reliably and economically.
Automated CNC data generation in iX CAM can take place for multiple workflows and enables flexible production planning. Thanks to special milling strategies, solid wood and frame parts are machined taking into account their respective grain direction.
Artificial Intelligence in Planning and Sales
The use of AI in planning and sales – especially in the kitchen sector – opens completely new possibilities for quickly and precisely translating customer wishes into concrete planning results. imos AG is presenting corresponding approaches for the first time at LIGNA.
The focus here is on customer inspiration: the AI assistant integrated into iX NET creates realistic room representations based on rough preliminary planning – known as “white planning.” These designs can be adapted in almost real-time – colors, materials, and decors can be varied as desired. This makes the decision-making process much easier for the customer and speeds up the sales process.
In the next step, another AI assistant uses the design suggestions to generate specific product information based on the stored catalog data. The imos iX applications then process this into complete planning results, quotations, and production documents.
Additional AI assistants also provide support with data creation, technical support, and translation tasks. More are in planning.
