Carpet Design Awards (CDA) will be presented at DOMOTEX 2023 for the eighteenth time this year. The winners of the prestigious competition for top-notch carpet design have now been chosen!
Out of 191 outstanding submissions from across the globe, 24 unparalleled designs qualified for the final round at DOMOTEX 2023’s prestigious Carpet Design Awards. In eight categories, a jury of experts from the design and carpet industries from around the world made their selections under Jamie Metrick’s direction, managing director of Elte.
Design, quality and craftsmanship
The coveted awards honour contemporary carpet design and showcase market breakthroughs and trends. The judges gave special consideration to the handmade rugs’ design, quality, and superb craftsmanship while choosing the finalists. According to Jamie Metrick, head of the jury, what he loves about the awards is that they encourage the best artisans to keep innovating and bring something fresh to the market each year. Jamie Metrick adds further how this year’s award categories have a great mix of producers, wholesalers, retailers, and designers.
EUCA Award honours carpet importers
The European import trade for handcrafted oriental carpets will also be celebrated at the Carpet Design Awards. Since 2007, the European Carpet Importers Association has given out the EUCA Award, which is now being given for the fifteenth time to recognise exceptional accomplishments in this area.
