Budimex-new student zone

On 19 January 2026, the Geodetic and Road Engineering School Complex in Poznań officially unveiled the Budimex Zone—an innovative student-dedicated space developed in partnership with Budimex SA, Poland’s leading construction company. The initiative marks Budimex’s third such collaboration with educational institutions nationwide, following earlier projects in Warsaw at the Stanisław Noakowski Technical School and in Białystok at the Białystok University of Technology.

The newly opened Budimex Zone has been thoughtfully designed as a multifunctional environment where students can study, relax, and connect with peers. Blending modern educational elements with areas intended for rest and creative development, the space reflects Budimex’s broader philosophy of supporting holistic learning. Beyond its visual appeal, the zone aims to encourage student integration while fostering curiosity about careers in construction, geodesy, and infrastructure development.

This opening represents another milestone in Budimex’s formal cooperation with the Poznań-based school, which began in November 2023. As part of the partnership, Budimex welcomes around five students each year for apprenticeships and delivers specialist classes focused on design, geodetic surveying, and construction engineering. Through this model, students gain early exposure to real-world industry challenges while still in education.

“Working closely with technical schools and investing in young talent is, for us, a direct investment in the future of the construction sector,” said Łukasz Janowski, Regional Director at Budimex SA. “By creating spaces that support both learning and social interaction, we help students better understand what our industry looks like in practice. We are especially pleased to bring the Budimex Zone to a school in the Wielkopolska Province.”

School representatives emphasise that the partnership delivers tangible value to students preparing to enter a competitive labour market. According to Renata Zapotoczna, Deputy Headmaster of the Geodetic and Road Engineering School Complex, practical education is a cornerstone of the institution’s mission. “The new zone is more than an attractive interior—it is an investment in student well-being and professional development. Our collaboration with Budimex opens doors to modern technologies, practical knowledge, and real construction experience, which significantly improves our students’ career prospects,” she noted.

A key component of the cooperation involves on-site internships at Budimex projects across the region. Students participate in ongoing construction works, including high-profile investments such as the Berdychowskie Bridges in Poznań. During their placements, apprentices work alongside implementation teams, review technical documentation, observe bridge and road construction processes, and take part in geodetic measurements. They also learn about construction materials, modern building technologies, site organization, and essential health and safety standards, gaining insight into the roles of various specialists involved in large-scale infrastructure projects.

Budimex’s educational engagement aligns with its strong operational presence in the Wielkopolska region. In Poznań alone, the company is delivering several strategic investments, including the Witosa Park Housing Estate in the Winiary district. The residential project will comprise 419 apartments ranging from 28 to 83 square meters. In recent years, Budimex has also completed landmark developments such as the Berdychowskie Bridges, the redevelopment of Kolegiacki Square, the Grunwaldzka junction upgrade, and the Student Depot dormitory.

By combining infrastructure delivery with long-term educational partnerships, Budimex continues to position itself not only as a construction leader but also as a committed partner in shaping the next generation of industry professionals in Poland.
