 Friday, May 24, 2019

Promising talents for the future of industrial design are showcasing their creativity at the interzum 2019 in Cologne from May 21 to 24. To honour talents and encourage creativity the presentation of the VDID NEWCOMERS’ AWARD 2019 is scheduled on 24 May as part of the VDID Industrial Design Day.

The VDID NEWCOMERS’ AWARD honours outstanding student achievements and offers aspiring industrial designers a platform and support for a successful start to their careers. The jury searches for outstanding creativity from the best students completed at German universities between 2017 and 2019. The participants freely selected their theme, and then worked to exhibit innovative designs. From 198 submissions by young designers from 30 universities, the jury selected four equally ranked recipients of the main prize, the PRIZE WINNERS VDID NEWCOMERS’ AWARD 2019, and awarded the accolade HONOURABLE MENTION VDID NEWCOMERS’ AWARD 2019 to four further projects.
