Decospan, the Belgian supplier of wood veneered panels and a market leader in Europe, is again present in Cologne in hall 6. However, this year with a considerably larger booth and positioned instead of left, more to the right in the hall, and close to the Piazza and Central boulevard (C041).
“Also the look of our booth will be completely different from previous years.” says Wouter Polfliet, brand manager of the division panels and jointly responsible for marketing and communication. “We think much more in collections rather than in separate panels.” This is very evident in the “Querkus” collection, already introduced in 2014, which offers a wide range of ingenious looks, but also reflects on the feeling through special surface treatments. “Querkus” will again have a prominent position this year. The range was expanded with new looks and surface finishes.
In addition to the current trends in oak, the Belgians also see a different trend: the return of conifers, the Scandinavian look and brighter structures. During “Interzum 2015”, Decospan already proposed a first concept of what has grown into the “Nørdus” collection. As the name suggests, the collection is based on the Scandinavian style of life and softwoods and birch are at the basis of the range. The feedback was so positive that the brand was put on the market in early 2016. Not only in the market it was well received, even the jury of the “Interzum Awards 2017” found the collection so qualitative
and innovative that they rewarded Decospan with a prize.
Decospan also has a lot of experience in staining and lacquering: “Shinnoki” is a collection of readyto- use veneered panels and is further developed in great extent. These new designs are also presented at Interzum.
