Jowat will be demonstrating that sustainable adhesives can be used in endless areas such as renewable raw materials, energy savings, occupational health and safety, consumer protection etc. at the upcoming interzum and LIGNA.

The Green Adhesives portfolio of the adhesive manufacturer Jowat comprises future-oriented products for a wide breadth of processes in the manufacturing of furniture and building elements. These adhesives have been developed with a firm focus on practical applications and industrial-scale availability. Green Adhesives comprises a range of adhesives which impress in industrial applications and are in no way inferior to their conventional counterparts. For edgebanding operations, the spotlight will be on the new PUR hot melt adhesive Jowatherm-Reaktant® GROW 657.40. It impresses with a formulation containing 20 percent biobased raw materials, outstanding thermal stability in the melt and many different applications.

Jowatherm® GROW 853.22 is a biobased hot melt adhesive and the product of choice for the secure and sustainable packaging of furniture components, interior doors, and engineered wood flooring or laminate boards. Due to its particularly high certified content of renewable raw materials (over 50 percent), it helps processors to significantly reduce their use of fossil resources. In addition, the adhesive also impresses with high resistance to low temperatures and a very broad spectrum of adhesion which allows the reliable bonding of challenging substrates.

The Jowat portfolio also provides green alternatives for the bonding of wood: Jowacoll® GROW 105.85 is a PVAc dispersion with a 20% biobased content (in accordance with ISO 16620-4), which impresses with good resistance to water and heat and with short pressing times in cold as well as in hot and high-frequency presses. This sustainable adhesive develops its full potential in wood processing operations as well as in the lamination of wood-based substrates with different surface materials.

For enterprises focused on the health and safety of processors, the Green Adhesives of Jowat furnish a wide range of solutions. The Jowatherm-Reaktant® MR product line supplies a tried-and-true class of powerful PUR hot melt adhesives. Due to their special formulation, they provide an efficient alternative to avoid the time-consuming training requirement for processors in the European Union which comes into effect in August 2023.

In addition to the diversified portfolio of adhesives, Jowat also supplies appropriate cleaning products. Jowat® 402.60 is a liquid cleaner which effectively removes thermoplastic or noncrosslinked PUR hot melt adhesives as well as water-based glues. The product works on different surfaces and is supplied in a convenient spray bottle. Compared to many other cleaners, Jowat® 402.60 is not subject to hazard labeling and therefore facilitates better occupational safety.

The adhesives expert Jowat will be presenting its green all-round, no hassle package of Green Adhesives at this year’s interzum in Cologne and at LIGNA in Hanover.
