Xylexpo: Excitement continues unabated

Xylexpo is full of innovations and excitement. Bouncing back and forth between Xylexpo Arena and the stands of Xylexpo, everyone is experiencing the exhibition dynamically, watching a live show with contents in Italian and English, thanks to a simultaneous translation service that preserves the liveliness of the initiative.

Innovations:
Companies have brought their excellence at the show. Comec group exhibits some of its most representative machines including Comec MD JAMB 11X CA3L , a solution at the highest technological levels for the production of door jambs. Robotics aisle of the show is dominated with top brands such as BACCI, BARBERAN, CASELLI GROUP, CMA ROBOTICS, GIARDINA GROUP, LESTA FINISHING ROBOTS, SAMES KREMLIN, and SCM. Freud, specialised in cutting tool manufacturing is celebrating its 60th anniversary at Xylexpo 2022. Several highlights from FREUD include industrial circular saw blades starting from its “Lsb X” circular saw blades for panel processing.

Education project

One of the most interesting and involving initiatives at Xylexpo 2022 is “Xylexpo Formazione”, an education project originally planned for the 2020 edition, then postponed until now. The first act of this initiative witnessed some thirty schools who were invited from the regions of Piedmont, Valle d’Aosta, Lombardy, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Emilia Romagna, Marche and Tuscany, involving about one thousand students across all school grades. They have come to Milan to find information and education opportunities about the tools and resources that will be the core of their professional experience.

XYLEXPO DIGITAL: Going live from the show floor

Xylexpo has gone digital as well, showing its determination to be innovative not only for the contents presented by more than 280 exhibitors, but also for the concept and methods for visiting the halls 22 and 24 at FieraMilano-Rho also for those who cannot travel to Milan.

The biennial international exhibition of wood and furniture technology has thus introduced Xylexpo Digital: broadcasting meetings, conversations, roundtable discussions, demos, stand visits.

The heart of Xylexpo Digital is the Xylexpo Arena, a traditional element of the biennial exhibition, offering speeches, roundtable discussions, and in-depth technical presentations.

XIA: Xylexpo Innovation Awards:

XIA- Xylexpo Innovation Awards, features Acimall president Luigi De Vito and the jury members: president Stefano Berti, former CNR manager at IVALSA, now IBE, in Sesto Fiorentino (Florence); Anna Bortoluzzi, Management Consultant and founding member of “Mapping Lca”; Filippo Boschi, innovation, industrial research and experimental development project manager at MADE s.c.a r.l., Competence Center Industry 4.0; Franco Bulian, director of Catas, Italy’s most prominent laboratory for wood-furniture certification, research and testing; Gianni Campatelli and Giacomo Goli, associate professors at the University of Florence; Felice Ragazzo, Department of Architecture Roma 3; and Frieder Scholz, former professor at the Hochschule Rosenheim – University of Applied Sciences.

The award winners include industry giants viz. Altendorf, SCM, Makor, PAOLETTI ENERGY s.r.l., Spanex to name a few.

The new calendar of Xylexpo in October has thus become a great opportunity to try and draw a balance for this year: “in person” meetings at one of the key events in the international exhibition calendar will certainly give a more reliable picture of 2022 and help industry operators anticipate the end-of-year results.
