Xylexpo 2026 to showcase multimateriality and innovation with key exhibitors and the “Drying Manual” launch

 Thursday, March 5, 2026

As the countdown begins for Xylexpo 2026, scheduled to take place from June 9 to 12, the event is already making waves in the woodworking industry. Known for its role as one of the most prestigious exhibitions for woodworking technology, Xylexpo will set the stage for some of the most forward-thinking developments in the field. This year, the show promises to deliver an innovative experience with a fresh focus on multimateriality and technology evolution, thanks to the strong backing of key exhibitors like Biesse.

Xylexpo 2026: A Leap Forward in Woodworking Technology

The exhibition’s growth and transformation are evident, with Xylexpo 2026 gearing up to become more than just a trade fair. Enrico Aureli, the president of Acimall, and Federico Broccoli, the vice president of Acimall and chief commercial officer of Biesse, both highlighted the importance of this year’s event.

Aureli expressed his confidence in the future of Xylexpo, saying, “Xylexpo has always been one of the most important exhibitions for the woodworking technology industry and for the entire manufacturing business. With Matec – which brings together Xylexpo, Plast, and the Composites Future project – the event takes a leap forward in quality: it’s not just a new format, but a different way of approaching the market, focusing on ‘multimateriality’ and the evolution of technologies. It’s a platform that looks ahead and provides companies with an international environment for meaningful discussion and development.”

The incorporation of Plast and Composites Future into Xylexpo’s format marks a pivotal shift toward a more diverse range of materials and technologies. The evolution of the show aligns with the changing dynamics of the industry, where boundaries are being redefined, and new opportunities are emerging. The integration of multimateriality offers a platform for businesses to explore innovative approaches to production and materials, reflecting the direction of the woodworking and manufacturing sectors.

Broccoli, sharing his perspective on the event’s significance, added, “Xylexpo is a major event for our field and for the whole Italian industrial system. After talking with the Acimall board – especially with the president, Enrico Aureli – and sharing our thoughts on the future of the show, we’re even more sure that the new configuration of the trade fair, which introduces plastics and composites as an integral part of a wider approach to multimateriality, perfectly reflects the evolution of the wood industry market, which is redrawing boundaries, expressing new ideas, and opening the door to change in the sector.”

“Drying Manual” to Be Unveiled at Xylexpo 2026

In addition to the technological innovations on display, Xylexpo 2026 will also serve as the launchpad for the highly anticipated “Drying Manual.” Supported by Conlegno, a non-profit consortium committed to promoting wood usage while protecting forest heritage and biodiversity, the manual aims to address an important aspect of the woodworking industry—drying processes.

The Drying Manual is a comprehensive two-volume work edited by Professor Giacomo Goli from the University of Florence. This manual seeks to provide the woodworking industry with a thorough understanding of drying, from the characteristics and properties of raw materials to the various industrial drying systems. The first volume, which will be presented at Xylexpo, delves into the fundamental aspects of drying, including the hygroscopic behavior of materials and how these characteristics influence drying processes.

The second volume of the manual will soon follow, focusing specifically on drying technologies and their industrial applications. The unveiling of this crucial work at Xylexpo will no doubt spark lively discussions among professionals in the field, offering valuable insights into improving and refining drying techniques for wood and other materials.

The Drying Manual launch is set for Thursday, June 11, at 11:30 a.m. at the Xylexpo Arena (Hall 18). This event will be an important moment for both the woodworking and the broader manufacturing industry, as it introduces innovative ideas and knowledge that will help shape the future of material processing.

A Platform for Networking and Knowledge Sharing

Xylexpo 2026 promises to be much more than a showcase of products and technology. It will be a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, fostering connections and collaboration across the woodworking and manufacturing sectors. With its enhanced focus on multimateriality and technological evolution, the exhibition will encourage meaningful discussions, providing attendees with the chance to explore the future of materials, technologies, and processes in the woodworking industry.

As the woodworking world looks ahead, Xylexpo 2026 stands as a beacon for innovation, bringing together industry leaders, professionals, and companies from across the globe to drive progress and transform the future of woodworking technology.
