Xylexpo new

Xylexpo, the international biennial exhibition for technologies in the wood and furniture industries, is set to take a bold leap forward in 2026. From June 9 to 12, 2026, at FieraMilano-Rho, the event will be part of a new collaborative exhibition format that aims to create exciting opportunities for the manufacturing sector. This new initiative, dubbed “Matec-materiali e tecnologie,” promises to offer a fresh approach to innovation by fostering synergies between woodworking, plastics, rubber, and composite industries.

A Bold New Collaboration with Plast Exhibition

In an exciting move, Xylexpo will join forces with Plast, the leading exhibition for technologies related to plastic and rubber industries. This collaboration is designed to meet the growing demand for solutions and tools focused on multi-materiality – a concept that is becoming increasingly important as industries evolve. The upcoming exhibition will bridge the gap between these industries, fostering new connections and opening up fresh avenues for collaboration and innovation.

This new format represents a significant turning point for the event, combining technologies and materials that have traditionally been separate but are now converging in response to shared industry needs. The exhibition will feature a dedicated space for “Composites Future,” an expo-conference focused on composite technologies and materials, supported by Assocompositi, the Italian association for composite industry professionals.

Strategic Changes and Exhibition Layout

The 2026 edition of Xylexpo will take place during a time of transformation for Milan’s fairgrounds. Due to the allocation of FieraMilano-Rho for the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics, the exhibition dates have been rescheduled to June 9–12. The event will be held in Hall 14 and Hall 18 at the Porta Ovest section of the fairgrounds. These halls will be specially dedicated to the new “Composites Future” exhibition, providing ample space for these exciting new industry developments.

The exhibition’s new layout, designed around industry segments, technologies, and materials, promises to foster more innovative connections. The organizers are also exploring the potential to include other manufacturing sectors in the future, which will further enhance the event’s scope and relevance.

A Vision for the Future of Exhibitions

According to Enrico Aureli, president of Xylexpo and Acimall (the association representing Italian woodworking technology manufacturers), the 2026 edition will mark a pivotal moment in the evolution of the event. “The next edition of Xylexpo is a milestone in our long journey to create stronger, more tangible synergies for our audience,” said Aureli. “By bringing together associations from various industries, such as woodworking, plastics, ceramics, and packaging, we are setting the stage for a more integrated and collaborative future.”

This innovative approach will allow visitors to discover technologies that are not only relevant to their industries but also stem from related fields, offering solutions to shared challenges. The vision behind this shift is to respond to the changing needs of exhibitors and visitors, making the event a more dynamic and interactive platform for the global manufacturing community.

As Xylexpo 2026 prepares to open its doors, the exhibition promises to set new standards for industry collaboration, technological innovation, and multi-material solutions, making it a must-attend event for manufacturers worldwide.
