WOODEX 2025 successfully marks a new era for the woodworking and furniture industry

The 19th International Exhibition of Equipment, Materials, and Components for the Woodworking and Furniture Industry, WOODEX 2025, took place in December at Crocus Expo IEC, Moscow. With 12,200 square meters of exhibition space and multi-tonne equipment on display, it provided a key platform for manufacturers and suppliers from Russia and around the world.

The event allowed exhibitors to showcase their latest innovations in woodworking, wood processing, logging, and furniture production. Additionally, participants had the opportunity to connect with new customers, enhance sales, and expand their networks.

A Boost for Russia’s Timber Industry

WOODEX 2025 plays an essential role in the development of Russia’s timber industry. The exhibition promotes high-tech, energy-efficient, and resource-saving solutions. This focus is integral in supporting Russia’s transition to a circular economy within the timber sector. Furthermore, the event remains the primary venue for business communication among professionals in the woodworking and furniture industries, both in Russia and the CIS.

Key International Participation and New Additions

In 2025, WOODEX expanded its international presence. Over 200 leading companies participated, hailing from eight countries: Russia, Austria, Belarus, India, China, the UAE, Turkey, and the Philippines. Notably, 40 exhibitors were first-time participants, enhancing the event’s diversity.

For the first time, WOODEX was held alongside ToolMash, the 2nd International Exhibition of Equipment and Tools. This collaboration expanded opportunities for attendees to explore a wider range of solutions for their woodworking needs.

A Shift to an Annual Exhibition Format

Looking ahead, WOODEX 2025 will transition to an annual exhibition from 2026. This change will ensure the exhibition remains a vital platform for the timber industry, allowing businesses to meet, share innovations, and drive growth throughout the year. The decision to move to an annual format has been welcomed by industry leaders and exhibitors, who recognise the event’s importance for maintaining industry momentum and expanding business opportunities.

High-Level International Visitors and Diplomatic Engagement

WOODEX 2025 attracted a range of notable international delegates. Representatives from the embassies of Vietnam, Turkey, and Azerbaijan visited the exhibition. They toured the stands and engaged in discussions about future cooperation in the woodworking and furniture sectors.

In addition, Mr. Wei Jiang, Secretary General of the China National Forestry Machinery Association (CNFMA), visited with his colleagues. They reviewed the latest exhibits and held meetings with Sergey Irtuganov, Director of WOODEX, to explore potential partnerships in the industry.

Exhibitor Profile and Key Participants

The WOODEX exhibitor lineup included top-tier Russian and international manufacturers of woodworking equipment, timber house construction tools, and wood waste processing solutions. These exhibitors were focused on promoting high-quality products and innovations to the Russian market.

Leading companies such as Nanxing, Kami, Stankoff.ru, and Interves participated. The new sections introduced this year, such as Metalworking Equipment and Door Manufacturing Equipment, featured exhibitors like OLRED and CNC Technology.

Recognition Through Awards

On December 3, WOODEX 2025 hosted a prestigious awards ceremony, recognising exhibitors who made significant contributions to the event. Winners included:

These awards highlighted the value of innovation, creativity, and dedication to excellence in the industry. The recognition further demonstrates the role of WOODEX as a premier exhibition for the woodworking and furniture industry.

Visitor Profile: Industry Professionals Only

Unlike other trade shows, WOODEX 2025 was attended exclusively by industry professionals. This ensured that exhibitors could target the right audience—representatives from furniture manufacturers, joinery, timber construction companies, and wood-processing enterprises. Attendees also included distributors of equipment, tools, and materials, all of whom were seeking to expand their networks and learn about the latest industry innovations.

Conference Programme and Key Sessions

The conference programme at WOODEX 2025 was a significant highlight. Over the course of four days, 63 speakers delivered sessions on key industry topics. Attended by 448 industry specialists, the discussions focused on issues such as the plywood and sawn timber markets, wood waste recycling, and the future of equipment manufacturing.

One of the key sessions featured Georgy Zherebyatov, Deputy Head of the Machine Tool Industry Development Division, discussing measures to support the timber industry and equipment manufacturers. The programme was also supported by CNFMA, with Wei Jiang joining the plenary session on the robotisation of woodworking and furniture production.

WoodworkingSkills Championship

A first for WOODEX 2025, the WoodworkingSkills Championship brought together the best specialists in the furniture and woodworking industry. This championship was organised by the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Industry Enterprises of Russia (AMDPE) and highlighted the skill and innovation within the industry.

Introduction of WOODEX Connect

This year saw the launch of WOODEX Connect, a mobile app designed to enhance the experience of exhibitors and visitors. The app combined matchmaking services and lead scanning capabilities, helping participants efficiently connect and schedule meetings. The app was a resounding success, with a total of 3,816 scans completed, including 3,051 by exhibitors.

Conclusion: WOODEX 2025 Sets the Stage for Future Growth

WOODEX 2025 was a remarkable success, offering an unrivalled opportunity for industry professionals to network, showcase new products, and discuss trends. As the exhibition moves to an annual format in 2026, the future of WOODEX looks bright, ensuring continued growth and innovation for the Russian timber industry. With the introduction of digital solutions like WOODEX Connect and the ongoing support of global industry leaders, this exhibition will remain a cornerstone event for years to come.
