WINTERSTEIGER unveils new automated small parts warehouse to enhance logistics

On Friday, WINTERSTEIGER celebrated a major milestone with the opening of its new automated small parts warehouse in Ried, Austria. The new facility, designed above an existing production hall to optimise space, spans 800 m² and has the capacity to store up to 50,000 small parts. This innovative vertical design maximises the available area, boosting efficiency in logistics and providing a more sustainable approach to operations.

The €5 million investment represents a significant step in the company’s long-term strategy for growth and sustainability. CEO Florestan Boxberg emphasised the importance of this project, stating, “We are not only investing in technology, but also in the future viability of our site.” This sentiment was echoed by Mayor Bernhard Zwielehner, who noted that WINTERSTEIGER is proving that “economic success and ecological responsibility do not have to be mutually exclusive.”

A Symbolic Opening Ceremony

The official opening of the warehouse was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by CEO Florestan Boxberg and Mayor Bernhard Zwielehner. The ceremony was also joined by key figures involved in the project, including architect Jochen Mugrauer, CTO Thomas Fürkötter, and other WINTERSTEIGER executives like Benjamin Hochholzer, Helmut Heftberger, Michael Kirchmeir, and Mario Schramböck.
