Mirka launched the DEROS® RS 600 sander with the DEXOS® 1217 M AFC dust extractor. Mirka celebrates winning two awards at the Red Dot Design Award: Product Design 2025 by introducing these goods. Both devices received recognition for their outstanding designs in this international competition. Mirka has previously received the Red Dot Award, despite the fact that this double victory is noteworthy. Sanders has previously received honors from the organisation, including the DEROS in 2014, the AOS-B in 2017, and the LEROS in 2018.
Mirka CEO Stefan Sjöberg is happy with the contest’s recent success. He divulges, “Winning such a prestigious award as the Red Dot Design is always an honour. Winning it for two products in the same year is twice as special. Still, the greatest reward is knowing we are staying true to our user-centred approach to design. It’s one of the ways we uphold the trust our customers place in us.”

For Mirka, the DEXOS win is especially significant because the new gadget represents a bold development in the business’s dust extraction line. Veli-Pekka Västi, general manager of Mirka’s power tools division, highlights that DEXOS has made a positive first impression and that the market effect and potential of the new dust extractor line are only beginning to be realised. “With the launch of the first product from the DEXOS platform, we have set a new standard for professional dust extractors. It is by far the most user-friendly, intelligent, and effective product in its segment on the market. Additionally, it can become even smarter through future software updates.”
The 2025 awards are just one more feather in the crown for Mirka’s product development, showcasing the capabilities and creativity of the business. Both products are made locally at Mirka’s production plant in Jakobstad, Finland.
