Unilin is launching a brand-new, leading-edge production line that pushes efficiency and creativity to the limit with the Lux 21 laminate press line. They are raising the standard for laminate flooring with cutting-edge technologies and an emphasis on accuracy and speed.
1. Lux 21 is the much more remarkable sibling of Lux 18
With several technological advancements, Lux 21 is an extension of an established press line. Lux 21, for instance, is controlled by user-friendly touch panels. The software program was also completely reworked based on past experiences, which greatly improved the efficiency of the new line.
2. To double the number of selections, press two designs simultaneously
The fact that Lux 21 has two presses arranged in tandem is one of its greatest features. The ability to produce two goods at once enables a more adaptable response to the need for a range of designs. The main focus of Lux 21 is on Quick-Step’s best-selling items.
3. 30% quicker than previous lines
Lux 21 is designed to be quick and effective. This line can produce 15 million m² of laminate annually, which is up to 30% faster than Unilin Flooring’s other press lines.
4. Automated accuracy at each stage
Lux 21 prioritises automation and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in every aspect of its operations, from the use of robots to apply the design layer to the bar code registration of completed packets. Robots and cameras guarantee incredibly accurate material placement, reducing human error and producing next-level final product quality.
5. An investment of €30 million
Lux 21’s construction is a massive undertaking that will cost €30 million. For four decades, laminate has been a staple of Unilin’s business, and it is steadfastly dedicated to the laminate’s future and innovation. May 2024 saw the commencement of Lux 21’s construction, and in late 2024, the first test boards came off the assembly line. In late March 2025, production was formally started after a successful test phase.
