The tenth edition of IndiaWood scores a perfect ten

INDIAWOOD 2016The tenth edition of IndiaWood scored a perfect ten in terms of innovation, international and national participation, extended exhibition space and overall ambience. IndiaWood also welcomed new country pavilions such as Sweden, Russia, Finland, Turkey among others. Over 850 exhibitors demonstrated around 200 new products spanning over 12 country pavilions.

 

Rightfully being termed as Asia’s biggest furniture show, this edition of IndiaWood got a new layout with four halls and an exclusive area for outdoor display covering more than 50,000 sq m of area.

 

In the inauguration, the ambassador of Finland to India, Ms. Nina Vaskunlahti pointed that with the vast opportunities, the Indian furniture market had to offer, it was but natural that more and more providers of raw material, technology and services from all the over the world were drawn to exhibit at IndiaWood. Oleg Numerov, Director General of Association of Furniture and woodworking enterprises of Russia pointed out, “We have received a great support from the Government of Russia as well as the Expo Center to mark our inaugural participation at the show.”

 

In a concerted effort to provide a thrust into the Indian market, the Russian Export Center has provided a platform for some of the big Russian players to enter the Indian Furniture market.

The inaugural run of the day-long, ‘Timber Forum’, on the sidelines of IndiaWood on Day 3 was a runaway success in terms of its content rich and diverse attendance.

 

First time exhibitors like Renner Italia, in its joint participation with Asian Paints, was extremely content with the visitor flow of the show.  Luca Fotia, responsible of communications and marketing remarked, ” This is our first time participation in this show. We are already in India for the last five years.  Italian design and coating is in good demand, and India falls under our top five export markets. IndiaWood is a very important occasion to show the industry our association with Asian Paints. Also, since last year, we are having Renner India. We are here to show the industry our new strategies for the coming years.”

 

Siempelkamp Group organised a press conference declaring the successful commissioning of a new MDF plant for the leading Indian boards and panel manufacturer, Action Tesa. Dr Vivek Jain, Director of Action Tesa, said. “We are pleased to enrich our delivery spectrum with a system of German quality and expand our technological advantage.”

 

The show ended on a positive note paving the way for a promising future for a woodworking industry.
