SWISS KRONO inaugurates OSB Production Plant in Hungary

 Tuesday, December 6, 2016

SwissKronoGroup_LogoSWISS KRONO officially launched Hungary’s only OSB production plant, one of Europe’s most advanced, in Vásárosnamény on November 9, 2016 together with 150 invited guests. The event, which attracted considerable attention from the media, took place in an elaborately decorated warehouse against the background of dramatically illuminated OSB products.

The first OSB board was produced in June 2016. And now the new OSB plant has also been officially inaugurated. Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the SWISS KRONO GROUP Ines Kaindl, Hungarian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Dr László Szabó and Sándor Filep, the Mayor of Vásárosnamény, together cut the red ribbon to celebrate the official launch of production of SWISS KRONO OSB bright, a new SWISS KRONO product.

Swiss-Krono-14_news-1In her opening speech speech, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors Ines Kaindl stressed the enormously important role that the new Hungarian facility will play in future: “We are very pleased to have found a way to revive this location and to resume production in Vásárosnamény. With his decision to invest in Hungary a second time, my father is sending a strong message: namely, that he believes in this site and especially in the people here.”

She thanked the governments of the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg and Hajdú-Bihar counties, the Hungarian National Directorate General for Disaster Management and the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency for speedily and flexibly providing state subsidies and the required permits.

After the ceremony, all of the invited guests were taken on a tour of the plant to acquaint them with the state-of-the-art Siempelkamp system, an eighth-generation ContiRoll®. There was also an open house that around 500 guests of all ages took advantage of to take a look behind the scenes and witness OSB boards being produced in this large, modern plant.
