SURTECO, a global leader in surface technology, has launched CIRCULAR EDGE, a groundbreaking line of sustainable PP edgebands designed to address the growing demand for environmentally responsible materials in the furniture industry. The new product line expands on SURTECO’s well-established PP Standard and introduces two variants with a significantly reduced carbon footprint:

  • CIRCULAR 50: Incorporates over 50% Post-Industrial Recyclates (PIR) and is FLUSTIX RECYCLED-certified, cutting the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) by 47% compared to standard PP.
  • CIRCULAR 100: Made from bio-attributed PP, ISCC PLUS-certified, with a mass balance approach ensuring full traceability. It achieves a 143% reduction in PCF, resulting in negative carbon footprint values—a milestone in sustainable materials.

SURTECO’s commitment to sustainability extends to its Cradle-to-Gate carbon accounting methodology, incorporating Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 upstream emissions. By aligning with the GHG Protocol and the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the company ensures transparency and compliance with international environmental standards.

“With CIRCULAR EDGE, we empower manufacturers to embrace sustainability without compromising quality or design,” said Dr. Christoph Kremer, Head of Product Line Management BU Edgebands at SURTECO GmbH. “As regulations like the Clean Industrial Deal drive the shift towards recycled and eco-friendly materials, our solutions help furniture manufacturers reduce CO₂ emissions and enhance energy efficiency.”

SURTECO’s innovative CIRCULAR EDGE range provides manufacturers with tailored, high-quality sustainable edgeband solutions, aligning with modern environmental standards while ensuring optimal performance in furniture production.
