Superup Series: The evolution of semi-automatic cross-cut saws

 Friday, August 1, 2025

The Superup series from Salvador Machines marks the next step in the evolution of semi-automatic cross-cut saws, engineered for optimal agility and safety in wood cutting. With the introduction of Superstop, a new electronic positioner unveiled at LIGNA 2025, the Superup series is now equipped with a versatile accessory that elevates stop and pusher functionality to a higher level of automation. In this article, we will delve into the key features of the Superup range, including the Superup 500 and 600 models, and explore how Superstop offers a solution for those looking to gradually optimise their cutting process.

The Superup series

Superup semi-automatic cutting-off machines stand out for their sturdy, thick painted steel structure, a machine table with galvanised idler rollers, and an electro-pneumatic presser that ensures constant clamping of the workpiece. The main models are the Superup 500 and Superup 600.

Superup 500

The Superup 500 semi-automatic cut-off machine is the evolution of Salvador Machines’ historic Classic series. It has been improved with a more robust structure, a more accessible adjustment system, and a series of innovative options, such as the retractable front guard.

Among its strengths is the pneumatic upper presser with electro-pneumatic control, which ensures great versatility to adapt to different processes. The machine operates with mechanical and mechanical-pneumatic stops, with galvanised idle rollers both at in-feed and out-feed.

On the operator’s side, the electro-pneumatic mobile barrier is activated through a retractable movement and features a certified safety system. The two-hand cutting control is ergonomically positioned and integrated into a robust, reinforced steel structure that is fully painted for added durability.

Superup 600

The Superup 600 is a semi-automatic cutting machine designed for more intensive work. It features a fully reinforced painted steel structure and an extremely sturdy machine table with galvanized idler rollers. The rollers have a load capacity of 600 kg, with a diameter of 89 mm and a width of 500 mm.

It is equipped with a pneumatic upper presser with electro-pneumatic control, while the cutting speed is controlled by a pneumatic regulator. The cutting movement is tilting and power is transmitted via a belt drive. In this case too, the cutting control is two-handed and in an ergonomic position. The machine is completed by a system of shock absorbers for weight balancing.

Designed to guarantee robustness, reliability, and ergonomics, the Superup 500 and Superup 600 are suitable for numerous areas of woodworking: production of parquet flooring, furniture accessories, fixtures, outdoor furniture, pallets and crates, general carpentry, and other specialised processes.

The flexibility of the presser, the strength of the structure, and the certified safety systems make these machines ideal for companies looking for an efficient semi-automatic alternative suitable for different production configurations.

Superstop: the new electronic positioner

Superstop is a complementary accessory designed to enhance Superup semi-automatic cutting machines and similar machines from other manufacturers, allowing for quick integration without replacing the existing machine.

Based on the robust structure of the Superpush 150, Superstop transforms any semi-automatic workstation into a workbench with automated stop and pusher functions:

7″ touchscreen panel with intuitive interface, USB port for importing cutting lists from CAD, and label printer support.

Stop mode: manual selection or selection from a list of lengths to be cut; the positioner automatically moves into position, eliminating the need for manual stops.

Push mode: definition of a fixed cutting sequence, with automatic pushing and real-time recording of the quantities cut.

With Superstop, now available on the market, the operator can choose at startup whether to input a list of exact lengths or simply specify the total number of pieces to be processed, allowing the machine to optimize the cuts automatically. This flexibility is especially valuable for those looking to gradually enhance their production setup. By starting with a basic semi-automatic system, users can achieve a quick boost in productivity at a lower cost compared to investing in a fully automatic system.

Superstop: modular automation and accessible innovation

The combination of Superup 500, Superup 600, and the new Superstop offers a modular automation path, suitable for craft and industrial businesses that want to modernize semi-automatic cutting.

With sturdy steel structures, powerful motors, and user-friendly interfaces, Salvador Machines confirms its commitment to accessible innovation.
