Stora Enso unveils executive management team for new forest asset company

Stora Enso Oyj announces the members of the executive management team for the new forest asset company, set to be demerged from Stora Enso, with the demerger expected to be completed in the first half of 2027.

On November 14, 2025, Stora Enso announced that Tuomas Hallenberg, previously Executive Vice President of the Forest Business Area, was appointed President and CEO of the new company. He started in this role in January 2026.

In addition to Tuomas Hallenberg’s CEO appointment, the other members of the new company’s executive management team have now been selected. The four members of the new forest company management team will be:

Executive management team of the new company:

Tuomas Hallenberg, President and CEO, assumed his position in January 2026. Prior tohis appointment as CEO, Tuomas served as EVP of Stora Enso’s Forest Business Area since 2024. He has a long and diverse experience in forest business leadership, including senior executive roles at Metsähallitus (Finland’s national state-owned forest company) and UPM. Tuomas has a Master of Science in Forestry from the University of Joensuu.

Martin Ros, CFO, has worked at Stora Enso in various leadership roles, and most recently served as SVP, Strategy and Finance of Biomaterials Business Area. Martin studied at the Master of Science in forestry program at the Swedish University of Agriculture Science and at the School of Business & Economics in Umeå.

Johan Djurberg, Head of Forestry, is currently working as Vice President, Wood Supply, at Billerud. Prior to that, he spent several years at Stora Enso working in senior roles within wood supply, forestry operations, and supply chain functions. He holds a Master’s of Science degree from Swedish University of Agriculture Science in Umeå. Johan will be joining the new company latest in June 2026.

Pontus Selderman, General Counsel, is currently holding the position of SVP Forest Legal and ESG Regulatory in Stora Enso. Pontus is an experienced business executive with a legal career spanning business law, ethics and compliance, intellectual property, litigation, and complex regulatory matters. He holds an LLM from Uppsala University.
