Södra has once again been recognized as one of the top one percent of sustainability-focused companies worldwide, according to the 2024 assessment by independent research firm EcoVadis. For the fifth year running, Södra has earned a spot at the top of the rankings, surpassing more than 100,000 companies across 200 sectors and 175 countries. This year, Södra achieved its highest overall score to date — 80 out of 100 — and was awarded the coveted Platinum Medal.
EcoVadis evaluates companies based on four key areas: Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Södra’s strong performance in the Environment category was driven by its robust reporting within the Science Based Targets initiative. Additionally, enhancements to the company’s business ethics program resulted in higher scores in the Ethics category.
“It’s incredibly rewarding to receive such high recognition for our sustainability efforts,” said Jessica Nordin, Head of Sustainability at Södra. “The strong marks, particularly in areas like the environment, are a reflection of the strategic priorities we’ve set.”
Henrik Wettergren, Vice President of Södra Cell, added: “Our ambition is to lead in sustainability, and this Platinum rating from EcoVadis reassures our customers that we are on the right path and fully committed to our goals.”
Södra’s continued top-tier ranking underscores its leadership in sustainability and its ongoing efforts to foster ethical, environmentally-conscious business practices.
