Siempelkamp, a global leader in woodworking machinery, has further strengthened its presence in Southeast Asia with the opening of its third office in Bangkok in early 2024. This expansion marks a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing commitment to enhancing customer proximity and providing top-tier service across the region, particularly in Thailand, a key market for Siempelkamp’s wood-based panel technology.
Strengthening Customer Relationships in Southeast Asia
Siempelkamp first ventured into Southeast Asia in 1989, establishing its headquarters in Singapore. This was followed by the opening of a branch office in Kuala Lumpur in 2007. The latest expansion to Bangkok reflects the increasing importance of the Southeast Asian market, with a particular focus on Thailand, where Siempelkamp’s wood-based panel presses have enjoyed decades of success.
In fact, Siempelkamp’s involvement in Thailand dates back to 1980 when the company secured its first sale in the local wood-based panel industry. Today, more than 22 ConRoll® presses operate in the country, further cementing Siempelkamp’s long-standing relationship with local producers. This strategic move in Thailand underscores the company’s commitment to offering customers unparalleled service, seamless after-sales support, and fast response times—key factors that have contributed to Siempelkamp’s reputation as a reliable partner in the woodworking industry.
Henning Gloede, Managing Director of Siempelkamp Pte. Ltd. since 2001, affirms, “The opening of our location in Thailand is part of our ongoing commitment to offering our customers perfection and a reliable partnership right where they are.” With extensive experience in the Asian market since 1992, Gloede’s leadership has been instrumental in Siempelkamp’s success in the region.
Focus on Service Excellence and After-Sales Support
The Bangkok office is strategically designed to provide faster response times for field service support and spare parts supply. Siempelkamp aims to strengthen its after-sales and service business by offering seamless ‘Delivered Duty Paid’ deliveries and technical support. Thai service and sales engineers will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the company’s customers receive exceptional service at every stage of their operations.
Siempelkamp’s service excellence philosophy is underscored by its dedicated focus on customer needs. The Bangkok location will serve as a hub for rapid field service and spare parts supply, ensuring that Siempelkamp’s customers in Thailand and the surrounding regions receive prompt and reliable support.
New Leadership in 2026: Daniel Bacic Takes the Helm in Bangkok
To further drive growth and strengthen relationships in Southeast Asia, Daniel Bacic, an experienced professional in the woodworking industry, will take over as Branch Manager of the Bangkok office in January 2026. Bacic, an Italian citizen, has been with the Siempelkamp Group since 2010, bringing extensive experience in after-sales, service, and project management. His expertise and leadership skills will be key to expanding Siempelkamp’s business and enhancing customer support in the region.
Bacic previously served as the Branch Manager for the Kuala Lumpur office, where he led Siempelkamp’s installation and service departments for Southeast Asia. His new role in Bangkok will focus on driving customer support, overseeing after-sales and service operations, and managing complex modernization projects.
“My move to Bangkok underscores Siempelkamp’s commitment to focusing on this important and steadily growing market in Southeast Asia,” said Bacic. “In addition to the new plant business, I will focus on ensuring excellence in customer service, providing fast and seamless after-sales support, and planning large-scale modernization projects for our clients in the region.”
Kuala Lumpur Office Management Transition
Siempelkamp also appointed Bee Koon Lee as the new Branch Manager in Kuala Lumpur on November 1, 2025. A chartered accountant with extensive experience in managing international companies, Lee brings valuable expertise to her new role. With years of experience in the Asian woodworking industry, she is well-positioned to lead the Kuala Lumpur office and continue Siempelkamp’s growth trajectory in the region.
Looking Ahead: Expanding Siempelkamp’s Role in Southeast Asia
The expansion of Siempelkamp’s operations in Bangkok, along with the leadership changes in Kuala Lumpur, signals the company’s long-term commitment to Southeast Asia. As the woodworking industry continues to thrive in the region, Siempelkamp is focused on strengthening its relationships with local customers, providing innovative solutions, and ensuring excellent service and support across all markets.
