Siempelkamp will showcase its innovations at LIGNA 2025 under the motto “Smart. Sustainable. Siempelkamp.” Staying true to its strategy, the company continues to transform the major trends of digitalisation and sustainability into forward-looking solutions for the wood-based panels industry.
At LIGNA, the Siempelkamp team will spotlight smart and sustainable technologies and services as key highlights. “Smart” reflects Siempelkamp’s commitment to maximising efficiency in raw material usage and plant operations for its customers. A strong focus will also be placed on enhancing the productivity and quality of wood-based panel production.
Siempelkamp has been working with digital solutions for many years and is continuously advancing them. “We have systematically expanded our expertise in the field of digital technologies and analytics. Visitors to the stand at LIGNA can gain a vivid impression of how this expertise can increase the performance and efficiency of a wood-based panels plant,” explains Samiron Mondal, Managing Director at Siempelkamp Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH.
Siempelkamp already presented its new digital platform “IQ” in 2023. This year at LIGNA, “IQ” will be bundling all the features of the digital system even more holistically. Visitors to the stand will gain a vivid impression of the comprehensive concept for the analysis, control and optimisation of the new ContiRoll®generation of systems: Generation 9 iQ. This new generation combines Siempelkamp’s traditional art of engineering with modern digitalisation solutions and AI methods. By merging IT and mechanical engineering, the company is setting new benchmarks in terms of throughput and resourcing efficiency.
Siempelkamp has also achieved an important milestone towards full plant autonomy: The “control room of the future” impressively demonstrates how such autonomy can be achieved. At LIGNA, it will provide an insight into the future, changed role of the plant operator, who will be relieved of operational tasks by the digital concept. In future, operators will concentrate on monitoring processes and will only intervene in the event of anomalies.
“Smart” also defines Siempelkamp’s approach to services at LIGNA 2025. Service experts from across the group will be present at the booth, combining their expertise with international service hubs to offer comprehensive, one-stop global support. The new “Siempelkamp Service Excellence” initiative seamlessly integrates spare parts, remote services, modernizations, and more, delivering faster response times, superior quality, and streamlined processes for customers worldwide.
Another smart topic at the LIGNA in the field of services will be the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) process. Siempelkamp service has been using EDI for several years and combines two main advantages to maximise customer benefits: Expertise in mechanical and plant engineering and experience as a technical dealer – including extensive spare parts storage and optimised spare parts processes. The online spare parts catalog, which has a far more complex structure than a pure online shop, also pays tribute to “Smart”.
“LIGNA is the ideal platform for us to strengthen our ties with customers, partners, scientists, and applicants. We look forward to showcasing our innovations in Hanover and engaging in dialog with visitors to our stand,” Samiron Mondal adds.
“Sustainable” — the second pillar of Siempelkamp’s LIGNA motto — will be brought to life at the trade fair, offering visitors a tangible and immersive experience. At Siempelkamp, sustainability is deeply intertwined with resource efficiency, innovation, and social responsibility, forming a core part of our approach. These themes are essential to driving success across people, machines, technologies, and services within the wood-based panels industry. Siempelkamp’s booth at LIGNA will also highlight the ongoing research and development efforts Siempelkamp is advancing to further strengthen sustainability across all areas.
One of the key highlights at the booth will be the Recycling Tower, where Siempelkamp will use augmented reality to present its technologies and research initiatives focused on sustainable, customised recycling solutions. Special emphasis will be placed on innovations in MDF recycling.
Siempelkamp service also demonstrates how it is invigorating its commitment to sustainability. A new plant is a long-term investment. Here, it pays to take action with modernisation or modifications that preserve the existing structure. At LIGNA, their service experts will be revealing which options for modernisation are available to help reduce CO2 emissions. It will also be possible to explore the topics of energy and material savings and energy recovery in Hall 26, Booth E 27.
