The convergence of global woodworking technology and the dynamic Eurasian market was once again spotlighted at WoodTech 2025 from October 11-15, 2025, in Istanbul, Turkey, where Italian machinery powerhouse SCM reaffirmed its industry leadership. Showcasing a comprehensive ecosystem of automated, high-precision, and digitally integrated machinery, SCM’s presence attracted significant interest, signaling strong growth potential for advanced woodworking solutions across Turkey, the Balkans, Eastern Europe, CIS countries, and the Middle East.
WoodTech, recognised as the premier trade fair for furniture production technologies and woodworking machinery in the region, served as the ideal platform for SCM to unveil its latest innovations. Located at a prominent stand (Hall 3 – Booth 313), the Italian Group presented an array of technologies designed to address the industry’s increasing demand for flexibility, efficiency, and flawless quality in modern manufacturing.
Umut Erkan, Country Manager of SCM Turkey, noted the high volume and quality of engagement. “As in previous years, our stand once again attracted strong customer interest,” Erkan stated. “We hosted many visitors not only from Turkey but also from the Balkans, Eastern Europe, CIS countries, and the Middle East. Overall, we are satisfied with the customer potential and the quality of visitors we received.” This widespread interest underscores WoodTech’s importance as a strategic gateway for technology transfer and business development in the vast Eurasian market.
The clear demand from attendees centered on solutions that can significantly enhance production throughput and allow for greater product customisation. Solutions that integrate automation, precise panel sizing, and advanced edge banding capabilities were particularly popular.
Erkan highlighted the core of the visitor interest: “Many attendees highlighted the reliability and innovation of our machines as key factors in their interest. We are confident that the connections and feedback gathered at the fair will translate into significant opportunities in the coming months.” This focus reflects a global trend in woodworking toward Industry 4.0 principles, where smart, interconnected machinery minimises labour costs, reduces material waste, and ensures consistent high quality, even in small batch production.
SCM showcased several machines that are at the forefront of woodworking automation, each bringing a specific benefit to the modern factory floor:
Beyond individual machines, SCM emphasised its vision of a fully integrated digital ecosystem. This comprehensive approach is centered on advanced software and digital services designed to empower manufacturers to optimise their entire value chain.
These services focus on helping companies:
Erkan concluded by summarising the group’s mission, “We are proud to have joined WoodTech once again to showcase our cutting-edge ecosystem of integrated solutions. Combining technology, innovation and tailor-made services, SCM continues to support woodworking companies in achieving their most ambitious goals.”
The strong reception at WoodTech 2025 clearly positions SCM as a key partner for the Eurasian woodworking industry’s ongoing transition toward high-tech, highly customised, and digitally managed production. The success of the exhibition is expected to solidify the company’s foothold in this vital and rapidly developing market over the coming year.
