SCM OPEN HOUSE

The woodworking industry is on the cusp of a new era, and the SCM Open House 2026, taking place from March 12 to 14 at the SCM Headquarters in Rimini, Italy, is set to unveil a transformative shift. With a focus on integrated solutions, world premieres, and the future of digital manufacturing, this event promises to provide an unprecedented view into the next generation of woodworking machinery and production models.

A New Era of Woodworking Innovation

SCM’s 2026 Open House is not just an event; it is a celebration of the future of woodworking. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore more than 4,000 square metres of the latest in machines, automated systems, software, and services designed to streamline production across a wide range of sectors. From timber construction to furniture, flooring to wooden windows and doors, the event will cover every component of the home, showcasing technologies designed to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enable sustainable production.

A Shift Towards Connected, Flexible, and Sustainable Production Models

At the heart of the event’s theme is the integration of advanced technologies that go beyond standalone machines and systems. SCM’s vision is clear: the competitive advantage now lies in the ability to integrate and connect production processes, creating a flexible, agile, and sustainable production ecosystem. This approach is essential in a market that demands faster production cycles, more customisation, and the use of new materials.

Digital Systems for Smart Manufacturing

Central to this vision is SCM’s advanced digital ecosystem, including WinMES, a cutting-edge Manufacturing Execution System developed in partnership with Tecnest. WinMES acts as the digital brain of the factory, optimising production flows, enhancing operational decision-making, and boosting overall plant reliability by interpreting real-time data. This system helps manufacturers respond quickly to challenges, enabling smarter, faster decisions.

Moreover, Smart Spindle, an advanced spindle-sensor system, will also be on display. This innovative technology uses predictive analysis to anticipate and prevent unplanned machine downtime, helping businesses maximise production uptime. Ensuring the security of this connected ecosystem, SCM will also highlight its advanced cybersecurity solutions, safeguarding data, processes, and infrastructure against threats.

Automation and Flexibility: The Key to Sustainable Production

One of the event’s highlights will be the presentation of an Integrated Sizing and Nesting Cell for Batch 1 production, designed for maximum flexibility and energy efficiency. This advanced system integrates automated storage, high-productivity panel saws, and a robotic CNC machining centre, ensuring seamless operation and minimal waste. The system is ideal for both large enterprises and small to medium-sized companies looking to optimise production while maintaining high quality.

SCM will also showcase the latest in edgebanding technology with the stefani cell E. This compact, entry-level solution is perfect for small and medium-sized enterprises that require high production performance at a lower cost. Additionally, the event will feature the latest advancements from the group’s partners, including Tecno Logica, a leader in integrated systems and robotics, and Mecal Machinery, which specialises in aluminium, PVC, and light alloy processing.

Enhancing Production with New CNC Machining Centres

At the heart of woodworking, CNC machining centres are essential for precision and flexibility. SCM will introduce new models in its Accord range, including the Accord 400 and Accord 500, designed to provide high-quality results across both solid wood and panel production. These machines will be equipped with the latest innovations, such as the “Flexmatic Pro” worktable and the H80C “Compact” edgebanding technology, enabling automatic changes for different edge applications.

Exploring the Future of Timber Construction

In a world first, SCM will introduce the area GL, a 5-axis CNC machining centre designed for high-performance precision in the machining of glulam elements. These elements are essential for the construction of multi-storey buildings, public roofs, and other infrastructure projects. The system offers unmatched flexibility, with the ability to perform pendulum machining for a variety of complex shapes.

Innovation in Surface Finishing

SCM’s event will also focus on surface finishing, with Superfici unveiling the Supermatt system, designed to create ultra-low-gloss finishes that are both durable and visually appealing. This technology is ideal for the growing trend of matt effects in furniture design, providing an accessible and cost-effective solution for manufacturers.

CNC Solutions for Windows, Doors, and Solid Wood Processing

SCM will present the Windor NT1 angular machining centre with the new “Optima BR” drilling-routing unit, ideal for processing windows, doors, and stairs. Alongside this, the Superset NT, an automatic throughfeed moulder, will be demonstrated, offering advanced electronic controls and precision for the machining of various profiles.

Transforming the Woodworking Industry

The SCM Open House 2026 is more than just a showcase of machinery; it represents a bold leap into the future of woodworking. By integrating cutting-edge technology, sustainable practices, and digital innovation, SCM is setting the stage for a new wave of manufacturing possibilities. Whether you’re in timber construction, furniture design, or surface finishing, this event will equip you with the tools and insights needed to stay ahead of the curve in an increasingly competitive industry.

This is your chance to witness the future of woodworking—join SCM in Rimini this March and be part of the revolution.
