The intricate world of finished surfaces and furniture components was given a focus on simplicity and strategic partnership at SICAM 2025 in Pordenone, Italy. Schattdecor anchored its presence under the guiding principle, “simplify. One Design. All Applications.” This motto spoke directly to the industry’s need for orientation amidst a growing complexity in materials and design options, aiming to instill confidence in crucial decor decision-making for manufacturers and designers.

The four-day international exhibition, which reaffirmed its standing alongside interzum as a vital platform for trend observation and business exchange in the furniture supply chain, saw Schattdecor shift its focus from mere product presentation to fostering genuine personal dialogue and collaborative idea exchange. The atmosphere was characterised by numerous productive professional discussions and concrete project inquiries, emphasising the value of human connection in driving product development.

Andreas Lehnig, Head of Marketing and Communications at Schattdecor, articulated the core takeaway from the event: “At SICAM, we once again experienced how valuable personal exchange is. Clarity, quality, and partnership-based collaboration are the foundation for successful product solutions – something our guests’ feedback clearly confirmed.”

‘One Source’ for seamless product development

Schattdecor’s presentation highlighted a holistic product and service offering—the ‘One Source’ approach—that streamlines the path from initial design concept to final application. This comprehensive package is designed to provide everything necessary for successful product realisation:

  • Design and decor printing: High-fidelity printed and finished surfaces.
  • Complementary materials: Matching edge bandings, press plates for textured synchronization, and 3D foils for complex shapes.

By integrating these elements, Schattdecor effectively reduces the complexity in the product landscape, ensuring consistency and quality across various furniture and interior applications.

A standout example of this integrated strategy and the company’s extensive network was the showcase of the decor Montmartre Oak, developed in collaboration with partner Renolit. This design was presented as a high-quality 3D furniture foil, demonstrating the seamless merger of aesthetic design with functional performance. The surface is perfectly engineered for three-dimensional forming and wrapping applications, a testament to how intelligent material science can meet complex furniture production demands.

Decor trends

The carefully curated selection of decors at the Schattdecor stand translated the company’s overarching trend concept, The Art of Tomorrow, into tangible, market-ready solutions. This concept is structured around three distinct trend worlds: Hipstoric, Clarity, and New Aesthetic. The featured wood reproductions underscored a clear move towards naturalness, authentic structure, and timeless elegance in modern interior design.

Two decors, in particular, captured significant attention:

  1. Ravello Walnut:
    • This refined walnut decor is distinguished by its pronounced, darker lines and deep, shadowed grain.
    • It successfully combines a sense of sophistication with enduring timelessness, making it an ideal fit for modern, clean, and minimalist interior concepts where richness is conveyed through texture and tone.
  2. Prime Oak:
    • An evolution of a design initially presented as a developmental concept, Prime Oak is a calm, authentic oak reproduction that embodies natural elegance.
    • The further-evolved version showcased at SICAM demonstrated a perfect harmony between the visual design and the surface texture, illustrating how tactile quality and natural appearance are now inseparable in premium finished surfaces.

These selections highlighted Schattdecor’s capability to swiftly and accurately translate global design currents into commercially viable surface materials.

Concept Sense+

In an industry increasingly driven by the demand for speed and precision, Schattdecor emphasised its innovative service offering, Concept Sense+. This program is designed to deliver genuine added value during the critical early stages of decor development.

Concept Sense+ allows customers to experience new decor layouts—including digital printing creations and sophisticated patterns—together with the perfectly matching surface texture and haptics while the decor is still in the development phase.

This unique opportunity to experience design and feel as one cohesive unit offers a decisive advantage for customers, providing the clarity needed for confident decision-making well before the decor enters full production. The ability to see and touch a large-scale representation of a stone or wood decor, especially large-format digitally printed decors which have seen particular popularity, minimizes risk and accelerates the successful market launch of new furniture collections.

By integrating partnership, innovation, and a clear vision for a simplified, holistic product portfolio, Schattdecor’s showcase at SICAM 2025 reinforced its role as a strategic partner, offering solutions that bring both clarity and confident creativity to the future of the finished surfaces and furniture components industry.
