Another trend theme from Schattdecor’s Decor Selection 2018 is Community Zone. In a society where new types of communities are playing a crucial role, conventional layouts are disappearing and being replaced by individualised living space configurations that are designed to cater to the inhabitants and their needs. A living space with an adjoining kitchen and dining area is the center of the home, a place to which everyone gravitates to chat, eat, work and play. The individuality of this style meets the needs of the Community Zone target group.
In 2018, oak is once again the most prevalent type of wood for furniture surfaces, appearing in a number of different designs. The surface textures also play a major role in giving such decors a natural feel and therefore keeping them on trend.
The rustic trend is not going anywhere. With that said, instead of extremely distressed or DIY looks, or a rustic country cottage aesthetic, we are now seeing a more restrained, natural-looking style – the idea is to go rustic, but not too rustic! It is all about decors that feature a solid wood or veneer look, exuding a natural quality and sophistication. Of course, the colors remain those of untreated wood or warm brown tones.

This decor – as its name suggests – hails from Italy. Textiles continue to be an essential element of interior furnishings. With “Twist,” schattdecor was able to develop a similar decor that has become a true favorite among our customers. Catania Oak
This decor is a natural oak reproduction with a striking texture. Bold side-cut wood elements and various rustic details give this furniture decor a lively look with warm brown and gold tones. Sections with fine pores and narrow growth lines result in a decor that is balanced and understated. This decor is an ideal fit within the Community Zone trend topic and can be paired with other woods for a striking effect.
