Microtec

SCA Bollsta on its way to becoming a sawmill 4.0 by relying on Microtec technology again since 2020. Microtec applications, CT Log and Maxicut Pro software, were integrated into the sawmill line.

SCA Bollsta, Sweden, and Microtec can already reflect on two years of successful cooperation. In 2020 the first two Microtec applications, namely a CT Log and Maxicut Pro software, were integrated into the sawmill line. To meet the goal of creating an innovative sawmill 4.0 with increased yield and quality levels, the collaboration was successfully continued in the summer of 2021, when a Logeye 302 and a Truespin were added to the sawmill line. In addition, the existing sorting line was upgraded with the latest technology, when two new Goldeneye 900 replaced outdated scanners.

A team of 16 dedicated Microtec workers, consisting of technicians and engineers, managed to set a new record while working on this project: In just seven days, all four Microtec applications were installed and commissioned. The effective and collaborative approach of all people involved resulted in minimal standstill time for the sawmill. In the future, Microtec will continue to support SCA Bollsta on its journey towards the creation of an innovative sawmill 4.0.
