The pro-K industrial association’s specialist group for front door panels recently celebrated its 25th anniversary in Herzebrock-Clarholz, North Rhine-Westphalia. Since its inception, the group has played a pivotal role in shaping industry norms and standards, promoting research, and advancing sustainable development in front door panel manufacturing.
Recognized as the leading voice of the industry, the specialist group has also become an essential platform for knowledge exchange. On February 26, leading manufacturers convened at adeco Türfüllungstechnik GmbH to discuss regulatory changes, analyze market data for the window and door segment, and commemorate this significant milestone.
Commitment to Sustainability and Innovation
“For 25 years, the specialist group has stood for information exchange and networking,” said Michael Witte, board member and spokesperson for the group in pro-K, and authorized officer at OBUK Türenfüllungen GmbH & Co. KG. “Beyond technical aspects like the CE mark and DIN standards, we are increasingly focusing on circular economy principles and life cycle assessments.”
Modern front door panels are crucial for environmental and climate protection. They not only provide stability and security but also ensure optimal thermal insulation without compromising aesthetics. “A modern front door panel is characterized by durability, reliability, and security, contributing significantly to sustainability,” Witte emphasized. However, he also pointed out the challenges facing the industry, including rising bureaucratic requirements, high energy costs, and a sluggish construction sector. “This makes our collective work in the association all the more vital to advocate for industry concerns and develop solutions.”
