The pro-K Industry Association for Semi-Finished Products and Consumer Products from Plastic eV has updated its guidelines for creating a declaration of conformity for reusable plastic consumer goods in contact with food based on Regulation (EU) 10/2011.
Since 2009, all plastic food contact materials must be accompanied by a written declaration, a so-called declaration of conformity (KE), at the level of the supervisory authorities and retailers. The underlying European regulations, primarily Regulation (EC) 1935/2004 and especially Regulation (EU) 10/2011, are regularly adapted and expanded.
“With the guidelines for the creation of a KE issued by pro-K, we have been providing manufacturers of reusable consumer goods with important support in compliance work since the first publication of the European regulations,” emphasizes Ralf Olsen, Managing Director of the pro-K Industry Association for Semi-Finished Products and Consumer Products from Plastic
In the new, updated edition, there is now an explanation of the special features when calculating the ratio of surface area and volume. New guidelines are available in the office.
