Modvion had the privilege of exhibiting Sweden’s dedication to sustainable innovation and international cooperation by taking part in the nation’s National Day celebration at Expo 2025 Osaka in May 2025 as a member of Team Sweden. As one of the Pioneer Prize’s first nominees, Modvion expressed that they were honoured to be present at the Expo, where their CEO, Otto Lundman, represented Modvion. Their efforts to push the limits of sustainable architecture and renewable energy infrastructure were acknowledged by the nomination alone. The day, which had as its theme “Join Sweden to Pioneer the Possible,” brought together corporate representatives, entrepreneurs, and government leaders to showcase Sweden’s innovative solutions and fortify Sweden’s relationships with Japanese and other international partners.
An International Platform for Innovation
With over 160 participating nations, an anticipated 28 million attendees, and a strong emphasis on co-creating future societies, Expo 2025 was slated to take place in Osaka, Japan, and is one of the biggest international events of the decade. Sweden participated through a combined pavilion with Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Iceland called the Nordic Circle. Innovation, cooperation, and sustainability are central to the Nordic Circle experience. A striking wooden ring, made from sustainable materials and intended to inspire discussion and mutual advancement, sits at the middle of the structure.
Sweden’s National Day at Expo
An official delegation led by HM King Carl XVI Gustaf, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Benjamin Dousa, and Jacob Wallenberg, Chairman of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, who led a large business delegation, led the National Day program. Throughout the day, Sweden demonstrated its leadership in cross-sector collaboration, innovation, and clean technology. It was an opportunity for Modvion to interact with stakeholders, look into collaborations, and support Sweden’s global message that leading the way in sustainable solutions is not only vital but also feasible.
Recognising Swedish Innovation: The Pioneer Prize
The first Pioneer Prize, a brand-new honor honouring Swedish inventions having the potential to have a major worldwide influence, was one of the highlights. They’d like to congratulate Green Iron on winning the inaugural Pioneer Prize!
Together with Candela, Neola Medical, Blue Ocean Closures, CorPower Ocean, Elonroad, and Cemvision, Modvion is honoured to have been recognised as part of this outstanding group of innovators. Collectively, they embody the breadth and depth of Swedish inventiveness focused on resolving some of the most important problems facing the globe.
Constructing a Sustainable Future
At Modvion, the team thinks that sustainable practices must permeate every aspect of the future of renewable energy infrastructure, from the relationships they form to the materials they utilise. Being at Expo 2025 gave Modvion a chance to consider how far they’ve come and how much more is achievable when they work together internationally. Modvion proudly delivers Sweden’s message to the world: Pioneer the Possible. They’re thrilled about the global movement toward a brighter, greener future and thankful to be a part of it.
