Metro Decorative Pvt. Ltd., a leading Indian manufacturer of medium-density fibreboard (MDF), has awarded international technology group ANDRITZ an order for the supply of a second pressurized refining system. The system will be installed at Metro Decorative’s MDF production facility in Kashipur, Uttarakhand, marking a key milestone in the company’s expansion efforts.
This order, which is part of ANDRITZ’s order intake for Q3 2025, follows the successful performance of the first pressurized refining system that was installed at the Kashipur facility. Metro Decorative’s confidence in ANDRITZ stems from the success of their initial collaboration, which has now resulted in an additional order to further enhance the production capabilities of their MDF facility.
The new pressurized refining system, which is slated for startup in the third quarter of 2026, is set to increase production efficiency at the Kashipur facility. It will be capable of processing 30 tons per hour (t/h) and features advanced technology that ensures high-performance fiber production. The system includes key components such as the S1056 refiner, designed for superior fiber quality, a robust 20” plug screw feeder with enhanced wear resistance, and a pressurized digester with counterflow and steam regulation, ensuring consistent output.
Metro Decorative’s investment in this new system demonstrates its commitment to increasing production scalability and meeting the growing demand for high-quality MDF products. The advanced S1056 refiner will support production rates exceeding 1000 m³ per day, offering greater output and flexibility to cater to diverse market needs. This system will also provide higher reliability and efficiency, key factors in driving long-term profitability.
Aman Garg, Director of Metro Decorative, expressed his satisfaction with the company’s ongoing partnership with ANDRITZ, stating: “Our first collaboration with ANDRITZ delivered excellent results, and we are confident that this new system will further strengthen our production capabilities. We value ANDRITZ’s expertise and innovative approach to fiber processing.”
