Power pack and all-rounder in one – that’s the best way to describe the new 18-volt cordless impact wrench from Metabo. The SSW 18 LTX 800 BL with ½” spindle impresses with its enormous power and is suitable for a wide variety of screwdriving applications. It creates up to 800 Newton meters in tightening torque and up to 1,200 Newton meters when loosening screws. This makes the new Metabo impact wrench the strongest in its class.
Loosening and tightening made easy
The new cordless impact wrench has a brushless motor that ensures maximum efficiency in all applications. “The machine is used wherever there are metric nuts and bolts – in industry, for maintenance and repair work on commercial vehicles through to timber construction,” explains Metabo Product Manager Felix Kaiser. If the APS (Automatic Power Shift) mode is activated, the speed reduces as soon as the screw or nut loosens – minimizing the risk of them falling and injuring the user or damaging something. The APS mode also works when tightening screws or nuts: The device stops automatically as soon as the screwdriver switches to impact mode. In this way, screws cannot be overtightened. “The function is particularly useful when changing tires in car workshops, for example. If the user puts the wheel back on after changing it, he simply tightens the screws with APS mode – as soon as the screwdriver switches to impact mode, the machine switches off so that no screws are overtightened,” explains Kaiser.
Versatile use
The twelve speed and torque levels ensure maximum flexibility. Depending on the work task, users select the setting that suits them. The cordless impact wrench is part of the 18-volt system from Metabo and complements the cross-brand cordless alliance CAS (Cordless Alliance System). Within CAS, more than 300 machines from more than 30 different manufacturers are currently compatible with one battery and can be combined as desired.
