MERINO- Matecia

Merino Industries Ltd., a prominent manufacturer of decorative surfacing and engineered wood-based products, delivered a standout performance at MATECIA 2025—the year’s premier B2B building material and interior solutions exhibition held August 21–24 at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, New Delhi. The company spotlighted two flagship ranges—the Grande Collection and the Marine Board—alongside its Cubicles, Cladding (MRS range), and Hanex solid surface lines.

On its expansive 208 sqm booth, Merino welcomed over 5,000 visitors, including architects, interior designers, OEMs, dealers, and end-users. The company not only showcased products but also played a leading role as the Headline Partner of the MERINO DESIGNS INDIA Architecture Conference, part of the Materials & Technology Conclave held alongside the exhibition.

At the Materials & Technology Conclave, Mr. Madhusudan Lohia, Director of Merino Industries, presented on “Emerging Challenges & Requirements in Panel & Furniture Industries.” He addressed pivotal trends impacting the woodworking and panel sectors—including rapid urbanization, heightened sustainability expectations, and evolving consumer tastes. His insights offered a forward-looking framework for makers and designers adapting to the changing design, material, and performance requirements of the modern woodworking industry.

Grande Collection: Seamless Elegance Meets Scale

The Grande Collection made a dramatic visual statement with its large-format laminates (10 × 4 ft, 1.25 mm thick) featured in a full-scale installation. This immersive setup allowed architects and designers to appreciate the collection’s expansive, luxurious look in real-world context. A branded photo zone invited visitors to interact with the surfaces and envision their use in large-scale wall or furniture applications—highlighting the brand’s commitment to both aesthetics and usability.

Marine Board: Revolutionizing Moisture-Resistant Building Panels

Perhaps the most talked-about innovation at the booth was the Marine Board, ingeniously used in its raw form to construct the booth itself. Live demonstrations—including screw-holding tests, boiling water trials, and water-wading displays—showcased its outstanding moisture resistance, warp-free stability, high screw retention, termite resilience, and overall structural durability. Backed by a 12-year warranty, the product resonated strongly with professionals, particularly for applications in high-humidity environments such as kitchens, bathrooms, and healthcare interiors.

Extending the Lineup: MRS, Cubicles, Claddings, and Hanex Surfaces

Beyond their headline products, Merino featured its MRS range, which includes cubicles, bathroom vanities, EWC installations, and wall claddings—demonstrating the functional breadth of their panel solutions. The Hanex solid surface line also drew interest with its thermoformed applications, illustrating the brand’s proficiency in marrying form and function with sleek, modern aesthetics.

A Unified Statement of Design Vision & Industry Leadership

Reflecting on the event, Mr. Manoj Lohia, Director of Merino Industries, commented: “MATECIA has always been a vital platform to engage with the design community. This year, the Grande Collection and Marine Board truly exemplify our dual commitment to elegance and functionality. The robust response from architects, designers, influencers, and channel partners motivates us to continue pushing the boundaries of design innovation in India.”

Merino’s dual approach—pairing stage-level thought leadership with hands-on, experiential exhibits—reinforced its role as a design and innovation leader within India’s woodworking and interiors sectors. The company effectively strengthened ties with emerging architects and designers, while reaffirming its relationship with established industry professionals and stakeholders.
