MAFELL delivers outstanding performance through new KF 1000

 Tuesday, September 22, 2020

The new KF 1000 edge router from MAFELL embodies all the plus points that have earned the tool specialist its outstanding reputation over the past 121 years.

Established in 1899, originally as MAschinenfabrik in FELLbach, MAFELL’s production operations are centered entirely on Oberndorf am Neckar, Germany. That means it quite literally delivers “quality made in Germany” and, what’s more, its vertical range of manufacture is as much as 85 percent. To meet its customers’ stringent demands, MAFELL uses only the highest-grade materials. For instance, components are not made of regular plastic but rather highly impact-resistant fiber glass-reinforced polyamide, while most of the die-cast parts it produces are made of die-cast magnesium rather than aluminum, which helps deliver weight savings of up to 30 percent. A significantly higher copper content in motors is also said to result in noticeably improved torque ratings. Innovative technology, premium-quality materials and absolute precision in high-tech manufacturing processes – these are the attributes that MAFELL claims help it stand out from the crowd.

Those who haven’t yet had any first-hand experience with the company might want to check out its KF 1000, a new edge router recently launched by the company. According to MAFELL, the KF 1000 is ideally suited for finishing flush and profiled edges, whether on solid wood, plastics or veneer. Digital electronics built into the tool support smooth start-up, stepless speed adjustment – including under load – no-load speed reduction and overload protection. The labyrinth seal also permanently protects the spindle and bearing from even the smallest particles, dust and chips.

Another advantage MAFELL is keen to emphasize is the stepless fine-adjustment of cutting depths via a threaded collar with a 1/10 mm scale. Added to that is an extraction hose adapter that can be adjusted to suit the current working position and a contact ring that can be removed for machining edges. Finally, the large, non-tilt contact surface has been designed especially to deliver accurate results.
