As LIGNA celebrates its 50th anniversary, LIGNA.Stage promises to be the heart of the exhibition, showcasing key industry innovations. Located in Hall 12, the stage will feature a full lineup of presentations, all slots fully booked from Monday to Thursday, and extended programming on Friday.
LIGNA.Stage will highlight the importance of circular economy practices in the woodworking and wood processing industries, with a comprehensive program running daily from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Monday to Thursday) and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday. The program will include LIGNA.Circular sessions addressing how businesses can incorporate circular principles into their operations, focusing on new business models, recycling, and efficient resource usage.
In addition to the LIGNA.Circular sessions, a dedicated “Focus Topics” segment will cover essential issues like digital tool management, optimized glulam production, and sustainable timber construction. On Monday, speakers like Axel Berger from the Enkelfähigkeit and Haniel initiative will introduce the circular economy’s cross-industry impact. Other highlights include expert discussions on recyclable timber construction and service innovation with companies such as Weinig and Fraunhofer IPA.
New this year, LIGNA will feature six themed islands around the stage, providing deeper insights into various aspects of the circular economy. These islands will cover topics such as sustainable wood materials, timber recycling, and the future of circular furniture. For instance, the ‘Circular Furniture’ island will present projects like ‘Furniture – Material Re:Turn,’ focused on creating a take-back system for old furniture.
Stephanie Wagner, Head of LIGNA at Deutsche Messe AG, emphasized the importance of LIGNA.Stage as a platform for knowledge transfer. “We want every visitor to leave with concrete, actionable insights that can be applied in their own business,” Wagner stated.
The full program, featuring all presentation slots, topics, and speakers, will be available online starting April 14, 2024. Visitors can access the comprehensive schedule and plan their participation at www.ligna.de.
LIGNA 2025 promises to be a milestone event, where industry professionals can explore the latest in circular economy practices, sustainability innovations, and cutting-edge technologies transforming the woodworking industry.
