LEUCO received German Innovation Award

Celebrated tool manufacturer, LEUCO received German Innovation Award of “LEUCO AirStream” milling system for woodworking. With a defined history of producing award winning tools, LEUCO, once again surprised users with innovations and advanced technology. The ceremony held on May 28, 2019, honoured innovations and creativity at a gala celebration in Museum of Technology in Berlin.

 

 

“The AirStream was inspired by the scoops of sports cars. Transferring the design to woodworking tools was a new tricky and exciting task that has never before been applied in this way,” opined Benjamin Sitzler, developer of the AirStream system at LEUCO. In the category “Excellence in Business to Business”, section “Machines & Engineering”, the AirStream system solution convinced and was honoured with the award Winner. The jury praised the new type and approach of the milling cutter design.

 

 

“It is important that, for the first time in history, smaller and medium-sised companies also benefit from a design solution for chip removal thanks to the AirStream system, because the tools are used on machines from Holzher,” adds Ewald Westfal, Head of Technology at LEUCO. German Innovation Award – The prize that makes innovations visible honoured LEUCO’s all new technology in which the disposal of chips is a classic challenge in woodworking. AirStream system now offers constructive solutions to tools for targeted chip guidance have to a certain extent been available for some time in the industry, especially in the furniture industry.

 

 

In 2018, LEUCO was awarded for innovations, such as “LEUCO p-System” and “LEUCO nn-System” by German Innovation. Modern machinery and highly qualified specialists ensure the quality of the tools and are happy to use these for years. “This is particularly successful if the future user is involved in product and design development,” concluded Andrej Kupetz, Managing Director of the German Design Council.
