Leuco celebrates African success story

 Wednesday, December 8, 2021

Leuco celebrates forty years of success in Africa. Leuco became known in the South African woodworking industry in the seventies through the successful work of the Plastim company, which was the exclusive dealer for tools. In 1981 Leuco founded Leuco Tool Industries together with co-owner Hartmut Koestner. The main office was in Johannesburg with sales and service centers in Durban and East London.

In 1993, Leuco Durban began manufacturing hard metal milling cutters and routers with fixed components and was thus able to offer a local solution for specially manufactured tools. In 1997 Leuco opened a sales office in Cape Town and in 2001 the production facility was expanded and moved to larger business premises in Cape Town. This gave Leuco the opportunity to manufacture cutter head systems, interchangeable and profile plates and fixed milling tools.

In 2007, Leuco South Africa was the first company for woodworking tools in Africa that manufactured diamond tools and was able to offer the service for them. Our thanks go to a market-leading product and our loyal employees and customers. We are extraordinarily proud to have been the market leader in South Africa and Southern Africa for 40 years.
